Warcraft 3!
If you're going to play with 6+ people, Call of Juarez BiB is great fun, especially wanted (one player is Wanted, he's marked with a star and everyone has to hunt him down) and the Wild west Legends mode (bank robbery).

I have a 14 year old, a 5 year old, and a 5 month old. A wife. A nice house. And, a career.
I don't have time for much anything these days.
I do still get together with friends. . . and they all have wives too.
(Sorry for the off topic)

The only lan game for me is Quake (the first one). I sort of liked Q3 Arena but Quake was the one i played (i sort of sucked but still had fun). Starcraft is still a strong Lan game also.

For me at lan at parties the best experience has always been when playing co-opretavly with the people who you ate in the same room with, for example playing something like rainbow 6 1-2 or 3 online as a solid team, or any other competitive FPS like SOF2 or Call Of Duty. sure it's fun blowing your mates away but gets old fast because they learn your tactics,, but when you work as a team with co-ordinated attacks and the opposition has no chance it becomes a whole lot more fun.
