So I haven't seen a thread on the upcoming PC version of the series so I figured I'd start one. One thing I've been wondering is if the new version is going to be another crappy port of the PS2 version like 08.

Last I checked they were skipping a year on the PC or something...

Last i checked the PC version is coming in october (October 21 to be more exact.)

Then it was the other nhl franchise as I don't see a pc version for that. I just remember someone posting a link awhile back about some of the sports franchises taking a vacation on the PC this year.

Far as I know only EA has a NHL game for PC in years (or ever?). I think it's only NHL and FIFA that is coming out for PC from EA Sports this year, the other titles has been cancelled.

NHL 09 for PS3 and Xbox 360 is the best sports game in the last decade.. as many reviewers have stated, as well as me.
I am an avid console sports and racing gamer. NHL 09 is fucking incredible. Stay away for the PC though. It will taint you.

According to posts on EA forums NHL 09 for the PC will be a PS2 port. The PC folks will definitely not like news that many of the new features are limited to console only. The new Be a Pro mode will be there, but it will be significantly raped of features compared to the console. Graphic wise, it will be the same as previous years. EA want's to steer people toward consoles as they feel it keeps the piracy down, so expect NHL 09 to be the same as it's always been. Disappointing. Note: I have played the PS3 version and it is probably the best NHL game I've played in the last 10 years. Sadly, the PC version will be night and day different.

Only good thing about the PC version is you can get the real rosters and all kinds of skins and so on.

nfl 2k5, but nhl 09 is a close second. If your not getting it for a 360 or ps3 theres no point though.

It's a shame it's a port of the PS2 apparently, i'll skip it as '08 was not worth the bandwidth.
