I really have no experience when it comes to gaming sound. Well, I know what 5.1 and 7.1 is, but thats just barely Razz

Anyway, im looking for a good surround system (I guess).
Good value for money, but I can rise my budged if its worth it. Im just under the impression that you can get almost the same sound for half the price.

I can't play Dead Space without proper sound Very Happy

I have my PC and 360 hooked up to that. Great fucking system, the 5.1 really brings games out, far from weak too.

yep, that one is alright for the price.

Pioneer also had a very own 360 soundkit...it was awsome and cheap. You should look that one up.

If the game uses proper 5.1 audio, these speakers do a god damn good job at utilizing it. I played FEAR on them and creeped me the hell out.

The best so far was using them in timeshift. Best 5.1 game I've played so far. Two speakers behind me, hearing bullets ping off the walls and crap, people running up behind me yelling, I actually turned around a couple times to look at a blank wall causes the voices sounded so real.

Anyway, found this Samsung 5.1 system for 20-30% more than the G51. But then again I have no ide if Samsung are good when it comes to sound. I know they can't make videocameras -.- , so they are far from a good "all-around" brand. And most Samsung TVs only minus is the sound.

And I know Logitech is quality... damn, really unsure atm. The place I found that Samsung 5.1 system is far away. It just seemed like you got more for the money. But then again id like to avoid chipping and and using a lot of time so think I might go for the Logitech anyway Razz

Looks like overkill for just a video game system.

Anywho, the only bad thing about using external sounds like this is the cords aren't really made for stretching, the 3 wires are fused at the neck so you only get so much space.

I bought the VGA adapter and the video cord is completely separate from the audio cords making it nice to have my 360 chilling on my computer with the cords going behind.

How do you connect the 2 RCA of the xbox to a system like the logitech g51?

I see that the connection of the system is like this:

I´m asking cuz I have a Creative Inspire T5900 (that sounds like shit Razz ) but it would be nice to connect the 360 to it.

I just don´t see how to connect it... The system input is 3 1/4 jack that connect to the sound card in the pc.

Is it possible to connect the 360?

I don't see how you can get 5.1 on a G51 with the X360 since it has to be hooked with an optical digital wire on a decoder, and the G51 lacks both...
The Z-5500 however has an optical and a coaxial digital inputs and a DD/DTS audio decoder.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the optical connection with a 5.1 decoder is TEH only way to output 5.1 on a 360.

No you are correct. i looked into 5.1 a while ago, the only 5.1 output from the 360 is through the optical cable connection.

I have the Logitech Z-5500's in my office.

They sound really good for the price and it has all the proper connections you need (optical/coaxial) so it goes good with my PC/360 setup.

Very nice system Shocked I'm using optical out for 5.1 with a Marantz AV Receiver with B&W speakers, with my 47" Full HD Phillips LCD it's great for games like Dead Space .... I wish I could afford the Harman/Kardon receiver tho ..... I have a sub but never plug it in, I feel sorry for the neighbours already
I'm more selective with my music tho, got a NAD Amp and Cd player with Boston Acoustics speakers ..... My neighbours hate me from the noise Twisted Evil

the equipment you guys have puts mine to shame Sad

I just have a JVC 7.1 receiver (only using 5.1, and it doesn't have HDMI which is OK since I run optical from my HTPC) and a cheapo set of 5.1 speakers. Got the receiver for free and the speaker set was reduced from $300 to $100, so not a big investment in the slightest.

But I'm actually just running HDMI to my LCD TV and then stereo to my receiver so all surround is just simulated. Still sounds amazing though, big upgrade over what I used to be using.

Yeah logitech point blank mother-fucker....

I used to be a big time HiFi nut and had my consoles hooked up to Naim shit which costs a fortune....

Went round to my cousins house who had his 360 jacked in to a 5500 THX badass and it kicked my equipments ass for a fraction of the price...

Yeah I was pissed that I couldn't have HDMI on my 360 and no optical out for 5.1 , like I have on my PS3 .... but then found that composite cables are just as good as HDMI, and with the composite cable you get an optical out so you can get 5.1 ...... Seems in this day and age of most homes having home theaters it was strange of Microsoft not to include an Optical Out on the console
