EA seem to be extending their 'Free to play' model into FIFA now, signed up to the beta but my expectations aren't very high.

Yeah i enjoyed it too.
Pretty mad playing with the mouse but overall.
With alot of updates, it will turn out very good.
With the amount of players always online on the pc too, it could turn out very good indeed.
I've always wondered why the have neglected Fifa 10 and games like that towards the pc.

That's because even in the installer screens on the fifa-online webpage you can see our fifa online is actually fifa online 3.

I'm tempted to give it a try...but I'll do it only after EA will announce a FIFA 11 PC identical to the console versions

Korean is a letter based language, not a character based language like Japanese or Chinese. If there is a sequel to it, I expect it'll be rolled out here as well when it's done.
Because of EAs financial stake in Neowiz, they've been pushing games over here and using ideas there. EA just isn't great at it.

I can't get used on the mouse controlls.... lost my first match 1-0 and my second match 4-0 in the first half before i used ALT + F4... even that wasnt satisfying because it still didnt close the game as fast as i wanted it.
Empty again

Say wha? Of course written Korean uses characters like Chinese. Hell, it used to be styled after chinese.
Anyway, Fifa online could be cool for casual play. I'm curious to see if it'll end up being totally unrealistic like the Tiger Wood's Online golf game. With magical stat bonuses, clubs, balls, etc the scores in the top 10 are usually -25 to -35 under par. In the fifa game I wouldn't be surprised to see that members could buy new cleats that will give you better ball control. Or a new jersey to give you 10% more kick power. Shit like that.
That being said, the golf game is still fun for casual arcade play. So I'm guessing the soccer game will be too. The more hardcore crowd is probably going to skip it though (if they go the way of the golf game.)

No it doesn't.
Chinese is a character (logographic) based language, Korean is a letter based language.
This is chinese: 漢
This is korean: 한
it's a combination of three letters, ㅎ ㅏ ㄴ
It borrows vocabulary from chinese, but Korean has had its own letter based script for centuries. You're on the internet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangeul

EA tends to mess that up. They've got a perfectly good model here in Korea which they want to borrow from (EA has a big financial stake in one of the major developers/portals here, its why their games show up here) but they don't follow it. They like to try and reinvent the wheel. Generally Korean games don't include those kinds of bonuses. The bonuses you get for cash are time compression bonuses, extra xp, points, or other things which generally don't affect most gameplay. In AVA for example you can get a bonus to carry an extra ammo clip, but for 99% of the players 99% of the time they'll be dead before they'd ever got to that extra ammo clip.

Semantics. When I say characters I'm referring to the non greek alphabet characters they use to represent letters - just as the guy you quoted was saying. Symbols, characters, letters - we're all saying the same thing dude. They all represent individual sounds. We don't care about that. That wasn't the point.
As far as borrowing vocabulary from Chinese...again, I don't care about that. I was talking about written Korean which has been around for much longer than centuries and was originally based off Chinese characters to represent Korean words/sounds. http://www.omniglot.com/writing/korean.htm
Look, it doesn't really matter. The point the original guy was making (and probably at least partially in jest) was that with an english version he wouldn't have to see the Korean writing all the time.

Chinese characters/symbols represent entire words. Korean letters, like english letters, represent individual sounds. So no, we're not all saying the same thing.

Yes, but it has used letters for centuries. Chinese symbols are very rare in written Korean these days. You typically only see them in a few traditional places like menus, certain old business signs, sometimes the newspaper if there is an ambiguous word, and of course chinese restaurants. There certainly aren't any "symbols" on the Fifa Online page at pmang.
No one writes entirely in Chinese characters these days. They write in Hangeul, the alphabet.

Ignorance is a bliss. |
Apparently so
I had always thought about trying Fifa online here, but I'd always been tied up with other games. Maybe I'll give it a shot and see how they actually have it set up here.
