What? Seriously? I don't get this...I mean I do, but we're talking about a microphone here. You don't need to proprietize a god damn mic. Greedy sumbitch corperations!
Was gonna ask how the "import your own tunes" feature was, but that's moot now since I won't be buying a "special" mic for a god damned karaoke game.
i can has computar?!

I know i'm gonna be flamed for reviving the topic but I Just acquired the #1 Hits game, and was wondering : did anyone think about modifying the ISO and adding custom songs to this ? Not really custom, but at least mixing the foreign versions (since some are missing songs) or even better, extract the DLC file, and add it to the iso.
I looked closely at the structure of the game, it consists basically of a SQL file for the tracklist that can be easily edited since it's SQL so you can theorically add any track and its folder path, then you should be able to copy any song as long as you extract the DLC and burn it ? Or am I dreaming ? I do have some DLC to try this with, but i'm too lazy to ruin a coaster with no song to add since they are already on my HDD...

The thing is mate, if you edit the ISO or the contents - the disk will no longer pass a stealth/legitimacy test and could well end up being a ban magnet.

Actually, that's not true. The Lips microphone works with every other microphone-compatible game - there are automatic compatibility updates that are downloaded for the game if you have the Lips mic.

I don't care, I'm already banned anyway.... I bought #1 hits, and used the coupon to dl/ one of the 3 packs they offer you. Too bad you can't have any of the other songs without having to buy the game AGAIN :/ That's why I thought about this : extracting the dlc container, and just include the files into the damn iso, hopefully the game would load them as long as you edit the database... This is just words but i wouldn't see why it wouldn't work... It's been done with guitar hero before I think.

Well, my theory worked !!!! And what a pleasure it was to browse the #1 Hits iso and see all the songs from all Lips 1 version (UK, FR, AUS, SWE, etc), missing the clips and the wma though, but you can "make them yourself" easily, the 360 reads any WMV fine. Even some of them are now part of DLC, so it's kinda like some free DLC.
Even easier though is to extract any DLC and put it on the DVD replacing a song you dont care or you already have on another disk : you can easily extend your tracklist by editing the MusicDB file and changing the title in it, so the game sees it as a new song.
I'm surprised nobody thought about this before, what's even funnier is I found 2 french songs in it while these songs don't exist at all on ANY version of the game, even in France
I guess nobody cares enough about it, but hey, it's free songs on a 1$ DVD !

As long as the format of the DLC is the same as the on disk format, it should work. AFAIK the DLC isn't encrypted in any way, only the "container" (the package) is signed, but anybody can extract it on a PC and have correct the files with no garbage in it.
