Quote:
Design Your Hospital
Build and customise your hospital - it is yours after all - with specialist diagnosis and treatment facilities, as well as the very latest in ornamental technology!

Cure Your Patients
Feeling light-headed? Just wait until you see the other unusual illnesses afflicting the people of Two Point County. Care for, and profit from, the ill: that seems like it’s probably a win-win. They’ll need feeding, entertaining and curing if they’re going to recommend you to all their equally unwell friends! That cash isn’t going to make itself, now.

Manage Your Staff
Hire your staff, juggle their demands and cater to their personalities. Train a crack team that can handle every sickly challenge that’s thrown at it, and fire anyone that can’t.

Expand Your Organisation
Grow the sickness business across the beautiful Two Point County. Research illnesses and develop new inventions to compete with rival healthcare companies.

Collaborate and Compete with Friends
Once you’ve conquered the world with your medical empire, contribute to Two Point County’s global medical community with collaborative research projects, or demonstrate your medical prowess in competitive multiplayer challenges.

Coming 2018! Stay tuned to our YouTube, Facebook and Twitter pages for the latest information and get ahead of the game.

Isnt that obvious??? ... different target, differen scale
... that one goes for the simulation first and foremost and is developed by like three ex-Bohemia Interactive guys
... this one is backed by Sega and developed by big team and some ex-Bulfrog guys so it obviously goes for all the wackines Theme Hospital is known for

It's probably a mystery, but I'm glad that there's a sudden revival of the sub-genre (Evil Genius will receive a sequel also, same for Operation Genesis and its spiritual successor), here's hoping they'll be quality titles and not a nostalgic trap Razz

BTW, the devs already have bigger plans, and there is hope for even more classic Theme games getting successors:

Quote:
The Sega-published Two Point Hospital is the first game from Two Point Studios, the new endeavour from Bullfrog and Lionhead alumni Gary Carr and Mark Webley, Their plan, ultimately, is to follow-up Hospital with a clutch of other theme/sim/management games set in the same world – picking up, perhaps, where the Peter Molyneux-founded Bullfrog left off when EA closed them down.

Light-headedness Very Happy This is more like it ! Fingers heavily crossed Smile

From the few in-game pictures/videos, it looks to be a straight-up Theme Hospital clone - the operating rooms types seem to be the same, some props and assets look eerily familiar.. we'll see whether this ends up being a good thing or not ! If they manage to integrate enough new features ( similarly to Parkitect vs RCT ), this could be fine.

I used to play Theme Hospital in 1997. Loved it back then, thought it was brilliant. I'm very excited for this. One of the most anticipated games for me of 2018, maybe the most anticipated even.

I'm usually not very emotional about games but the nostalgia on this one might have me preorder the physical CE, if they release one Laughing

The wittines of theme hospital was so original and always lacking in other hospital sim games.

I actually hope they do something with dungeon keeper as well, syndicate wars, i'm all for it.

Can't wait to see some gameplay.

Oh no! I won't make it to the bathroom in time! Where shall I choose to let loose? Why, behind the receptionists desk of course!

Methinks the devs have been watching too many Japanese adult videos! Very Happy

On a serious note - damn this looks great!

The visual style with stylized goofy-looking characters definitely fits the jolly tone, me likey Very Happy

@Pizda2: Regarding DK, you could give a try to War for the Overworld (if you haven't already), it's practically like a modern-yet-vintage remake of the classic. It was released (waay) too early in a dramatically unfinished state, but it's received a ton of patches/contents and should be fully enjoyable now. Alternatively, there's the Dungeons saga which is pretty decent as well, albeit it expands the formula in different ways (which one may or may not like).

Tried Dungeons, didn't like it. Thought it lacked character. DK had loads of character, so did theme hospital. Two-point hospital clearly nailed it as well, with the goofiness, humor and artstyle.

Never heard of war of the overworld, might check it out. Though I am afraid it'll have the same issue as Dungeons.

Problem is when DK came out it was amazing with it's little details, sounds and overall atmosphere. These new DK clones try to do the same without really adding their own flavour, if you know what I mean.

Dungeons 3 was a pretty good game compared to its predecessors. And the above ground combat would be considered its own "flavor."
