Hi all
Just thought i would make this thread because it's turning into abit of a problem this.
No doubt alot of other nfohump members suffer this too?
What it is, since being laid off from work on the 10th of October, i very rarely have a normal nights kip if ever.
Lately I've been getting up at 1pm in the afternoon sometimes later and going to sleep at really stupid times like 5-6am in the morning when you workers are getting ready for work.
I feel extremely worn out and cannot be bothered doing nowt at all all day.
Anyone else suffering from this lately?
I'm going to try some of them light sleeping tablets nightall see if that helps tonight as it's really starting to annoy me now.
I just can't nod off at night.
Anybody else suffering from this lately?
Thanks

Well I can say I sleep alright but my darn cat's wake (us) up at around 4:30-5:00 EVERY F'n night/morning!. Have 2 cat's and the older "King" is a BASTARD!.
They have their own toilet (have 2 bathrooms so they got the small one, just a sink and a toilet) and he starts tapping the flush pad (inserted in the wall above the toilet) sounds like a snare roll and loud as F!. Why?...cause he is hungry!. BASTARD!
We tried to put a towel under it so it don't bounce etc. But the bastard pulls it out, no matter how hard you shove it in there.
So the end effect is sort a 5-6h sleep cause I can't go back to sleep after being woken up like that...sucks .
Just look at his stupid face (Kong is the cute and clever one SO DON'T BLAME IT ON HIM...OK! )
Maybe haven't turned the clock allover the place..but I am sure not getting the sleep I need.
PS: Sorry to hear that you have been laid off man!...I guess we are going to hear more of that as the whole world is going in to recession...Dam this looks more and more like the 30s...I hope there will not be another WW after this crap blows over.

@Cox
heh, thats how they solved the first depression...why not do it again? This time its not just a country, but a whole region to go to war with ya know?
Still, I dont know about all the european countries, but Canada isnt doing to bad. Not great obviously, but not bad. If your not skilled at anything, then yeah, its probably tough. But if your skilled in something, have the required training or certifications, its not to bad.
The US tho, they are gettin it the worst and fuck, tbh, fuck em. U know what did em in I think? that 700+ billion (well, over a trillion now) bailout for institutions that really, dont need or deserve it. Like bailout the working man....banks are meant to hold and transfer money, not create it you know?
Bail out John and Jims Auto Body Shop or something....not some wallstreet firm who's CEO's are making 100million + a year....and still wont take a pay cut...bullshit.

I got to bed at 3/5 am and wake up at 7am and go to school. That's everyday pretty much. I can't sleep. I drink on wedn (tomorrow and Friday/saturday) and i pass out and sleep for more than 4 hours.
Workign out fills you up with adrenaline. can't sleep on that shit. Go see a doctor. There are sleeping meds at pharamys i haven't tried, but i was told of a couple but completely forgot about them. something about fixing the serotonin levels in your head or sum shit.

Dude, I had insomnia for the longest time. And even still, I cant sleep at nite. It doesnt matter how tired I am, I get like a second wind around 11pm or 12am and Im up to 5am-7am.
Talked to my doctor about it enough and i tried some sleeping pills and they worked, but fuck, you start to rely on em and its not good at all (sleeping pills are highly addictive, more so than just about any other med Id say).
So she just said, sleep when you can and if it ends up being you sleep during the day, get a nite shift job. Thats what ive done. When I go back to work, Im working 12am-8am or 11pm-7am.
Just dont try and force yourself to sleep cuz that will keep you awake for sure. Just lay down, chill, close your eyes, think of something pleasent/something that makes you happy, escape into your head kinda thing and relax. If you dont fall asleep, atleast your resting and if you do it for a week, you'll start to like...I dunno how to describe it...like your thinking about whatever but you end up falling asleep and next thing you know you'll open your eyes and it'll be 5 hours later.
Works for me when I need to be asleep by no later than 3 am. I lay down around 11pm, watch some tv (no serious stuff, comedy or something that doesnt relate to whatevers on your mind...for me, its usually sci fi...star trek, stargate, movies I have recorded etc) and around 12am, I close my eyes and listen to the tv/think about something in great detail that makes me happy or would make me happy but doesnt relate to whats on my mind and usually I fall asleep without knowing it.
EDIT
I dunno if it will work for you, but try it. Cuz some members here should remember my insomnia threads...I used to be up for 3 or 4 days straight and sleep for 5 hours (well, pass out) and then be up for another 4 days or whatever. It was crazy. I was a zombie...like in Fight Club where Norton says that when you have insomnia nothing is really real, thats how i felt.
It was cuz I had a ton of stress dude and had to learn how to deal with certain stress (i also had to take some meds, not sleeping pills, but I doubt you will have to).
It sounds like your stressed cuz you lost your job and thats understandable. But you will get another one for sure, it'll take a week or 2 or 3 but you will get another job. So like i said, think about something in great detail (like every little detail) while laying down in the dark with your eyes closed and you should, within a week, start sleeping and you wont even realise it.

this works great for me, especially when I've seen the movie/tv show and I can picture what's going on without getting curious to peek at what's going on. Actually I've spent most of my life falling asleep to the TV...

Exactly. Thats why i watch star trek (usually tng) or stargate sg1. Ive seen em all and dont need to watch em...i can picture them in my head and i do and i usually fall asleep. If not, I think about something good in great detail and that usually does it. Not always, but most of the time. I still have times where I can sleep no matter what.
I never slept with the tv on. I was married for a while so I'd turn the tv off and the wife would hug me or lay on me or i would hug her and the breathing rythmn of someone else puts me to sleep quickly.
Still happens when I sleep with women (not sex per say, actual sleep)...I fall asleep in 10 mins or so.

I played with drugs too. Insomnia is a bitch. I can only get sleep if i pass out from drinking. So I get 2 decent sleeps a week. But from what I'm told, when you pass out it's not really sleeping.

I have those during the day. I used to remember everything people would say to me. And Honestly I've been catching myself forgetting things. I can still remember HUGE things. Like grades my ex's would get. Things they would eat. Favorite proses and shit like that. But new people... this one girl was talking about an artist whom i completely forgot about, but a year ago I knew everything about him. Fuck even nowadays I mistake Dali with Duchamp. How gay is that?
It could be a mix of panic attacks and insomnia. I dunno. I'm almost done school so I'll get all checked by new years. ( like i said last year when I complained about soaring headaches ) But this year I really should do it. hahaha.

I can't remember numbers..NO JOKE. It happens all the time. I can have the number in front of me, and I really need to check it like 3-4 times if I want to copy it to a post or dial it in to a phone or what ever...makes me look like a retard I know...the weird thing is that I can remember my 1st telephone number. 08/839361...my Mom's 1st number after we moved out of Grandpa/ma's house .

Lol! I don't even know my own phone number. But no, I have a good memory. Like almost photographic. But some things I just can't seem to remember. It's annoying as fuck. I broke up with one girl cause I didn't know her eye colour. Well she broke up with me. But I knew EVERYTHING else about her. What she loved to eat, what books she loved, all her little things, people she worked with, daily work problems. I remembered everything. But eye colour got me dumped. I still don't know what it is. but I think it's brown cause it looks like (i've been looking at pix of my ex's when I got drunk) and they all had brown eyes. But a girl with brown eyes wouldn't ask you what colour her eyes are. WTF!
