Well not surprised. CoD 4 was a huge hit for them. Course they are gonna go back to the same well.

Might contain spoilers.
Funny, I didn't think anyone survived in COD 4 but I guess new characters could be created in a similar setting/story instead of doing a sequel.

I thought the British solider you played as did survive. I assume the story could have the character reassigned and simply play as him again.

I heard a rumor about COD5 some time ago. Apparently the game should be about Operation Anaconda that took place in Afghanistan a couple of years ago. Imho that could be pretty sweet running around in caves and deserts and mountains. But I do think that it will be somehing entirely fictional that is inspired by current events world wide.
What do you guys think?

if its anything like it was when i was there it was all but sweet. the mountains were freezing cold, the desert area was hot as shit and the only action I took part in (since I was a scout) was calling for fire on villages and shooting at people way out of range of my m4 (although my team leader was hitting people with the m21).
the engineers just went through caves and mountains that the air force blew up and took blood samples off dead bodies to test in hopes that one of them would be bin ladens.
most of the action was just dropping bombs or the mortar platoons, not much close combat like there is in cod games.

Take a successful game and add a 2 after it's name to get more money, even if the "successful game" was already the fourth of a series. I hope it lives up it's name.

Just cause CoD:WaW doesn't have a number in the title, doesn't mean they skipped a number. That's silly

I read somewhere that they will stop using numbers in the COD franchise...
Found it.
Quote: | “We’re getting rid of the number in Call of Duty for a very specific reason,” said senior producer Noah Heller. “It’s because we want you to know that when you’re playing Call of Duty: World at War you’re playing the best shooter, the best WW2 game ever. Likewise when you’re playing Modern Warfare, likewise when you play any game that will be called Call of Duty.” |

It doesn't really matter if they officially use numbers or not, CoD: MW2 is in effect the 6th Call of Duty game. Or 4th if you ignore the Treyarch games (3 & 5).
