Doesn't look that bad, but the mouth needs some tuning when he talks.
Doesnt look that bad? I think its jawdropping.
Edit: The mouth will be tuned if you pay for a couple of DLC
But indeed, it looks pretty awesome. I've seen a better one though (can't remember exactly which one it was) for the mouth, but the eyes here are much better.
Activision R&D showcased “next-generation character rendering” at a panel at GDC 2013 and the results are really quite extraordinary.
“It’s more about creating a medium for better expressing emotions, and reaching the feelings of the players,” Jorge Jimenez, technical director at Activision Blizzard said on his blog (via CVG).
According to Activision, these renders are from a GeForce GTX 680 in a DirectX 11 environment, which is one year tech. However, Jimenez says that the real-time demo used at GDC was on a “two year old laptop.”

We saw similar tech 4-5 years ago (still not in any games, how curious..), sure it has improved a bit, but yeah the question is when it actually will be in games AND if it will be "MegaTexture-awesome" (=stripped down and not really more impressive than tech we already had for years).
Sure, but again IMO these type of things are necessary to be researched & developed to end up with eg Crysis 3's actual in-game and impressive tech.

Nonsensical statement of the week.
I could just as well watch the movie. I am playing a game to see real cg, not a man captured with 199999 cameras

I don't know. It feels like analog vs digital thing for me.
Generally it looks awesome

AAA games use mo-cap for body animations already, it only makes sense for the facial animation to catch up with that. Hand made facial animations are hard to do well, and time consuming to polish up with all dialogues.
Tho these days top engines has very nice tools to make animations, if you are talented enough they dont be much different than with mo-cap. Saves money and time. But if we talk about this "face" technology, its gonna be long time until we see this in games, because of the complexion what tech it has (do we really need this in games?), lets say Crysis 3 for example... The face looks as good or better, but lip sync lacks.
