Too bad, I dont like Van Damme - but he would still be a nice addition to Sly's idea of a movie.
Would be nice if he could get Arnold in it too (Vin Disel, Bruce Willis, John Travolta, Uwe Boll...ah yes, he's no actor.. )
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
I'd prefer this over Inglorious Bastards. QT can write, but he can't direct for shit. Anyone can direct his script. So meh. A good fashioned action flick. :O I'm down.
not really. it's all over the place. his movies. only thing that stands out is the writing which has been going downhill since kill bill. He can deliver, but he can't throw punches anymore. He needs Roger Avary back in his life. And umm scott and stone directed his movies and pulled a better job. Fucked up, but did better jobs.

Yes, his Death Proof was poor, but so what. Hardly any good director only does good movies, it's impossible.
You keep on saying it's "all over the place" without being specific. So I must ask, do you know what directing entails? And moreover, why Tarantino's style of directing is distinguished (some might even call it "bizarre" )?
it's not bizzarre. he watches bad movies and he imitates them with a bigger budget and better actors. He's shooting shit movies w/ money. That's all there is to it. Oh that and he pens a script, throws it on the floor, and then puts it back in random order and pooh... his genius at work. non-linear story arcs are GAAAY if you can't write anymore.
He has a good track record. RD, PF, JB - y'know. then you got KB and DP.
Have you seen his episodes of CSI? SO BAD! SO FUCKING BAD.
Death Proof was better than Planet Terror and it was pretty obvious it was just a "tribute" if you will to the grindhouse movies he's always watched. He made it for fun.
I can't see ANY problems with his direction. He's a very accomplished director. Everyone has their style, if you don't like his well that's your opinion but he's an excellent director.
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!
i think you got that backwards
none of his films are written by him
they're copy paste jobs of (usually) asian cinema
only thing making them good is his ability to make them seem original and not a remake they are

So what movies are Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs copy paste from then? I'd like to see them.

Kill Bill is from asian cinema. Maybe some of the major themes are lifted from old samurai films from some of the other movies as well. But you can say that for TONS of classics from hollywood. Does not make them less of a movie. And he's written allmost everything he's been involved in. In one way or the other.

reservoir dogs is a remake of an eighties chow yun-fat film
kill bill is not a straight forward remake
it's a series of remakes of scenes from (mostly) asian cinema
a scene from this film, a scene from that film, and arranged together into a single continuous storyline
if you watch some earlier asian cult films you'll be having a lot of dejavu moments with this
pulp fiction, as far as i know, is fairly original
i don't know of anything it would be trying to copy
but none of this matters
he does his films well
reservoir dogs is a dozen times better than the original and killbill plays like a greatest hits album, coupled with the new, great authentic story

"Producer Avi Lerner has reported that the film will be cut down to two versions, a PG-13-rating edit and an R-rated version, both of which will be screen tested to see which one will be officially released.
Due to the high level of anticipation of the online community and overwhelming positive reaction to early test footage, producer Avi Lerner has reported that there is already talk of making two more sequels, and a longer franchise, depending just who makes it to the end of the first film intact."

Ffffuuuu-- if they end up going with the pg-13 version for the theatrical release... Probably will and release the proper version later on DVD.
Actually, looks good so far. So many action stars can at the very least deliver a sound action movie. But Sly writing the script? That's problematic...
