Fed0r might allow sessions of gameplay in GTA IV but the game crashes regularly and seriously doubt it's just down to the known bugs - especially as it happens after hours of just idling inside your apartment.
If the game is running for you - and you just leave it idling, say inside your apartment, is it still running fine when you leave your PC after 1 or 2 hours?
Not mine - it quits out with a critical error.
Yet everyone seems quite happy with the Fed0r launcher - it's a step in the right direction but it's not there yet. From my experiences playing the game I think active protection is still lurking in there and we need Reloaded or Vitality to do one of their more thorough exhaustive searches to nail all the latent triggers and delayed shit that Rockstar put in.
If you're having problems with GTA IV, then please don't buy the game. DON'T REWARD ROCKSTAR FOR CHOOSING OVER ZEALOUS PROTECTION. Don't let them think that bloated protection on your PC is OK and you're happy to pay for it. If you've ever had to wait for a release - this is the one to wait for. Send a message that you think Securom and their multiple online login strategy sucks dick. Send the message by WAITING for a decent scene release.
after reading your post only one thing comes to mind, why would u want to leave your game idle for 2 hours and complain about it crashing exactly because u just leave it on doing nothing?
it's just plain curiosity, i never leave my games idle for hours, that's why they invented a thing called "save"
Game runs great with Fedor for me. Maybe u need to give your computer fans a good cleaning, could be overheating causing it to crash or you have some other software conflicting with it.
i've played with the fedor loader from start to the third island, doing every quest in between, without a single crash
you just have bad luck and it would probably crash on every version for you
The reason you're crashing out after a few hours isn't the cracking method .. it's the memory. The game has a pretty bad memory leak for some people - and it keeps growing. After a few hours play (or, in your case, idling in your apartment. WTF for??) the leak causes a CTD (crash to desktop)
