Just a quick question.. I tried playing Xvid on my PS3 and tried it on a USB stick which was Fat32 but had no luck at all and after reading I found out you cant. I burnt an Xvid to CD-R and it played that fine. Can I play Xvid from the PS3 HDD at all? I dont want to keep burning them to disk nor do I want to buy a External HDD
what i do is use virtual dub to change it to CBR and leave the video untouched. download LAME MP3 so u have the option to compress with mp3 or you will find your file sizes will be huge.
i convert while transferring to the usb stick , usually a movie takes 3-4 mins , to convert and transfer which is probably little more than itd take to transfer the file alone
if i wanted to stream from my pc, id just watch it on my pc, seems to defeat the object of the ps3 media capabilities if both devices need to be on anyway.
