You know i think that maybe its Metal Gear Ac!d , cause when they talk about MGS they always write: Meatl Gear Solid. On the site it's only "Metal Gear" whithout "Solid"

I for one never played MGS1,2,3 or 4.
I'd be more happy with a rehash of 1,2,3 than 4 tbh.

Metal Gear on PSX was actually Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear refers to the NES versions. The Solid series is the 3D variants on the PlayStation. Though there are other Metal Gear games like Acid (which used an exclamation point, like the splash screen, in its name), so it'd be reasonable (with the conclusion of MGS4) to conclude they are branching out to some other territory here and I don't know why people think they are remaking the original Solid series based on this.
...although if MGS4 were to ever find it's way on the 360 that would be essential unless they wanted to sell on brand power alone. The game completely alienates newcomers.
EDIT; reading up on it Konami apparently announced a new portable version of Metal Gear AC!D not long ago. Sounds like a lot of nothing in that case but we'll see.

Though I never said or even tried to implicate such a thing I admit I phrased it badly. I was merely trying to emphasise how important it is to have played (and enjoyed) the previous Metal Gear Solids, because if you didn't then the likelihood you'll appreciate MGS4 decreases dramatically. Even on the PS3 the game suffered from alienating newcomers who bought it based on hype and graphics. It's a very polarizing game, and to take for granted that the 360 crowd might have played them seems a little haphazard.
Before the release of MGS4 there was a PS2 compendium of the previous 3 titles released. Something like that, even if it's not a re-make like the gamecubes, would be preferable to just dumping it on the system and hoping for the best. Fans will love it, sure, but newcomers?

MGS is crap. I wish it would go away with it's super cheesey never ending unskippable dialogue.
What genious thought that making us sit a solid hour before gameplay listening to some ole crap nobody gives a flying one about NAGGING in guise of actual story.
Go away MGS forever, die and die again.....[stamps on blue-ray disc, then throws it wood chipper]
..c'mon I can't be the only one who actually physically felt like punching the developers of this garbage in the face.
edit...btw I don't like MGS.

I agree, I will never forget Metal Gear on the NES. It was one of the best games ever released on the NES and that's saying something.

I hear that, they were near impossible which is why I went through some NES controllers back in the day! LOL! Thank the amino those days are over! I like my X360 controllers!
Zelda was the #1 game on that system, but not the hardest. All the Mario games were hard. BC was hard. There were many games I couldn't even finish. Mega Man anyone? That was a very hard game! I kept saying GIVE MY MEGA MAN DOUBLE JUMP WILL YOU!!! LOL! Ghost and Goblins Sheesh, beat that but it was almost impossible. Those 2 red devils near the end! I had dreams about killing them when I was young. Never forget the day when I did, I screamed, stood up with my arms above my head!!! Ahh, gaming memories! So many good memories. I hope my son is a gamer after getting good grades in school.

I know, that's why I said "on PSX". |
And I'm just making the distinction clearer for anyone who read your post that's all, it's useful information when looking at the Konami teaser as it mentions 'Metal Gear' not 'Metal Gear Solid'.

MGS4 lacked two things which made the others great (among other things of course). First, the codec stuff. Only 2 contacts in the whole game? That's kinda lame. The other thing is all the easter eggs. The older ones had tons of them, some really funny too. 4 only has a few of them, and they're not that funny.
MGS 1 and 3 are my favorites.

yeah i kindra agree with you dezztroy. I loved MGS2 back then when i played it, it was just an incrediblle game for the PS2, but with the time, i'd say MGS3 was the best : it was definitly more mature and like a holywood movie while MGS2 looked like some japanese anime, the way the story was told and the characters were brought.
