Uh, the system that he explains on the second it's the exact same system that Ubisoft used with AC2. We know how that worked.

But, hey, there is a silver line on this article, AC2 sold less than AC1. Pirates are the guilty ones again, eh Ubisoft?

It's about his genious idea of a DRM. Except his idea is what the Ubisoft DRM already does.

well, having the games on their servers doesnt really work seeing its dependant on the users internet connection obviously. So will be nice to pay for a game and sit a day waiting for it to load

This is part of why gaming quality has declined.Stupid companies like ubishit is too busy focusing on DRM then a good game.Regardless of the hype about piracy, these companies make fortunes. They can take their DRM and stuff it.

this online DRM is already enough

reassuming so far

1) for AC2 SKIDROW stolen the p2p russian server emulator with values and injected it into a .dll. you can finish all the main story but it is not 100% completable anyway

2) for POP Forgotten Sands SKIDROW stolen and modified a p2p chinese beta crack. you will play plenty of bugs as such doors that doesn't open, levers that doesn't appear, bugged skills and upgrades etc etc

3) The Settlers 7 still is impossible to apply all patches, you get freezes for synchronization of saves and differents bugs and RAZOR they have not been able to crack it properly

4) Splinter Cell Conviction Multiplayer SKIDROW crack is crap and doesn’t work anymore, Insurgency dlc map pack can’t be cracked and patch 1.04 still isn’t cracked

5) SH5 the initial full SKIDROW fail. VITALITY it seem the first real crack but still there are many ppl that complaint for crash and problems

so crackers wins and they are able now to crack it properly or UBI wins? Laughing

... but end up squandering it anyway. Assassin's Creed 2 sold a fuckload of units and yet Ubisoft's profits for that (year or was it quarter?) were on the negative.

Imho, These days it seems that gaming media are only talking about stricter DRM and how to maximize profits than the actual games, which I think is sad...

I blame games like WOW and GTA4 for being either INSANELY profitable and/or being stupidly costly to make and still profit.
It seems that certain people "smelled blood" and decided that from now on, the only thing that flies Moneywise is MMO's and AAA Hollywood like movies.

And with that kind of philosophy, it's no wonder that they (and the media they pay off) have spend a lot of their/costumers time talking about what I would call "Meta Gaming".

If they (the press) could just talk about the games (are they any good?), and not being so cowardly that they won't dare doing a Full On hate review if a game truly sucks! Smile

Thread closed, the issues here have already been discussed. Theres nothing in that article that says Ubisoft is developing anything, apart from what they're already using.
