Hi , I got a question my Xbox 360 locks up sometimes , in menu or ingame , doesnt matter wich games , anyway I found out today that my cable looks like this (see picture)

http://members.upc.nl/w.kruit51/cable1.JPG

and

http://members.upc.nl/w.kruit51/cable2.JPG

My question is can this make some sort of glitch or whatever the word is that the xbox just freezes , no error msg no nothing and no red ring thingy.

I tested with the normal TV cable that came with it and works like a charm this cable on picture is a original vga microsoft cable.

Personaly I think it is the cable that causes this but maybe others have expirianced this aswell.

Ok new update , last night played whole evening with the normal TV cable with no problems , today i turned on the box and worked fine but in the evening again lock ups also with the red ring BUT not the 3 grids but all 4 of them , acording to some research they say its the power supply , also strange part is the lock ups happend when I touched the power supply cause the cable was under it , locked up a few times then turned it off for like 30 min putted it back on and worked for 4 hours straight also with touching the box or power supply .

This thing make me nuts , anyone got anything simulair ?

O it basicly all started after that latest update , and also since its the only one I play its with Tomb raider Underworld

Most likely its the AV cable in your picture.

I have problems with freezing too. Freezing games: R6 Vegas 2, Mirror's Edge, GoW2, Fifa 09...other working normal.

I read somewhere that the deleting of savegames of that game which is freezing helps. Well, for Fifa 09 it helped, but what about other games! I don't want to start them playing again. Can my VGA cable be responsible for this? Or NXE?

Sofar I have readed that NXE has cost problems to people that never had any problems before I dont know if this is just typical bad luck or that it actualy have to do something with the new update.

I know I never had any problems before and it all started after the new Update

no red lights is always a good sign. it could mean network issues if if these freezes happen during online play. no big deal as everyone faces theses problems. last night i got a similar freeze together with 19 other live users while doing a 10vs10 match in fifa.

minor advice: do not put your console on a paper box. very bad with respect to stability of the spinning disk

I think I got the same problem. Never happened before NXE. Some games just fucking freeze and the only solution is to restart the console.

Well before NXE I didnt had any freeze problems , it all started after NXE .
Then it started with a freeze and a RROD and then more freezes and later only the RROD.
It kinda sucks ass so im not sure if it has to do with NXE or that the freezes where just the start to get the RROD all the time at a later point.

I had RROD(which was fixed with x-clamp) before I updated to NXE. Now, I'm seeing freezes like these on video, sometimes RROD too, then after 10 minutes, when I turn up console, some games work fine. But just some, I think there's a problem with that here! Shocked I just must test some more of them......

My Fight Night Round 3 freezes when I am about to fight in a different arena than the windy city gym or whatever it is called. It might be a DVD disc problem... Had issues with NFS Carbon (locked up after intros) and NFS Most Wanted - locked up after a certain race in a certain moment. Tried downloading again and burning but it did not help Sad

Strange for me too...

- Last year i burnt Forza 2, BO: Paradise and GTA IV->all on verbatims, with 2x speed
-These games are working without freezes!

- Now I have more games: all burnt on Traxdata discs, with 2x speed too.
-Now: R6 Vegas 2 was working fine to about 4th chapter; then freezes.
-Army of Two too.
-GRiD is working good and I've almost finished it->I can play it 6 straight hours with no probs
-BiA: Hell's Highway->beated it; no problems at all.
-Saint's Row 2; burn't last week, working good for now.
-Fifa 09; freezes randomly, sometimes in menu.
-Fifa 08; freezes randomly, sometimes in menu.

That's it, I haven't tested others...There must be something wrong with...I don't know, maybe NXE. Rolling Eyes

Almost forgot: I burn't GRAW2 and Saint's Row 2 same day, on the same disc, same speed, same burning software.... Smile

And, GRAW2 started freezing on 2nd mission, after tutorial. SR2 is working good. Question

Maybe is something with the media? If the game freezees in exactly same moment I think it is connected with the image. Bad image, bad burning, damaged disc.

Perhaps you should try Verbatim instead of traxdata.

But I've finished Colin McRae: DiRT on Traxdata with no problems...and played a lot of matches in FIfa 08(burned on Traxdata too). But->it was before I've installed NXE!

Well thats how it started with me , first random freezes sometimes 1 time a day then for days nothing , then more times a day and happend also on dashboard , then suddenly had 1 time the RROD then nothing and was good for days again untill it started again it was bad for a whole day , the next day i changed the cable see my post above and it worked for a whole week with NP at all then like a week later again a freez and after that only RROD.

So my guess is you box is on the same thing as mine was and is breathing out his last breath untill it cant go on anymore and u prolly get the RROD all the time.

I hope it's not true. But it's true that my xbox was made in September 2006. Smile
I also "discovered" something->today I played GRiD when I was signed into Live! It freezed in 15 minutes, even it never did before(I was also playing when signed into Live!), but few minutes ago I finished playing 1 straight hour of it->I was not signed into Live!. Cool

Well, I'll try other games tomorrow, but I hope my xbox won't die so fast.

Sure, good luck! But my was made in Trieste(ITA), that's like 250km from me. But I have original bill. But I doubt that I will got to Trieste and to give back to shop, so they will repair it. Do you think I can give it to everyone else here in Slovenia? Very Happy I doubt in this too. Smile
