With every expansion pack in a series, there is drop off. I remember bioware talking about this. When the drop off is too large that they aren't making enouhg profit, that will likely be the end of them.

I've heard that this expansions are supposed to be HL3 or something like that.

Quote:

As far as Valve is concerned, the Half-Life 2 episodes we're getting now *are* Half-Life 3:

"Probably a better name for it [Half-Life 2: Episode One] would have been Half Life 3: Episode One, but these three are what we're doing as our way of taking the next step forward, but Half-Life 2 was the name we used," said Newell.

So......that's what HL3 is? this short crap? Sad

It´s better that they don´t call it HL3 cuz this are definitely expansions... So, no point of calling it HL3!

Agree!
HL2 was very linear and some things sounded like too prepared... Like the places you were passing. It didn´t feel natural. This episode was different with all the thinking and in game puzzles that it had. We have the good old Half-Life back Smile
The new trailer for episode two show some big environments in the woods... That´s sort of new!

Black-Mesa Source! This is your 'new' game to play. The reworked HL1 game entirely on the source engine from a mod team.

Too bad it's going to take fucking years before we ever see a release.

lol .... *not* very linear? natural? thinking? puzzles?

Damn! I wish I'd bought your version rather than the crappy ultra-linear more-of-the-same puzzles-fit-for-a-five-year-old version I downloaded from Steam ....

What did you expect?? Myst-like puzzles? It´s a First-Person Shooter and you can´t stop an hour to solve a puzzle!! It must be fast but not direct, or it would lost all the First-Person shooters gameplay... Cuz you stop, but you don´t want to be stuck much time, you just want to move on and fire some shots!

I think he would recognise him then. It's more likely it's a future Gordon.

This should help answer questions like why HL 2: Episode 1 (noted how there is a 2 after HL not 3)
is 1 of 3 episodes in the Half Life 2 sub series. Also it answers you that episode 3 will be in middle of 2007 at latest. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1063175

This only makes it harder for the mod team to finish the game on time Evil or Very Mad

Maybe Gordon is a clone of the G-Man? You know, the G-man was some kind of super agent and then they made Gordon out of him and trained him in combat using the black mesa incident ? xD Okay maybe I'm going a little berserk now...
