Maybe we could have a nice thread for games that you find online cheap.
Steam is getting enough hate from me, but they have a huge sale.
Check it out @ http://store.steampowered.com/holidaysale
The entire steam catalog has lower prices, from 10% to 75%, till January the 2nd of 2009.

The highlight of that is probably anyone wanting to pick up Bioshock cheap. £3.50. Wow. I still don't want it after playing the demo, but still, that's a very, very good price.

So there is a difference, guys. UT3 and TF2 are sold for $9.99, and when converted to £ (with taxes), it does indeed to to £7.

Well, I don't know about that, we get out prices in $ still. But if the other prices are bad, than shame.

In Poland majority of new games in stores cost 79-129pln (~30-40$) with boxes, manuals and some bonus content, on steam now we would have to pay ~200pln (~70$) ;D
I got a question for you guys. Is it possible to buy games on steam using a proxy? Do you have to pay taxes when paying in uk pounds? I mean, does Bioshock really cost 3,50pounds only or is it 3,50+tax?

Don't even think about doing that, unless you wanna say goodbye to your steam account and all the games on it.

And what about gifting via proxy? Creating new account with no games on it and trying to buy&gift the game? Is the gifted account endangered?

You can however have someone from the US buy the games for you as gifts.

Unless you have a UK credit card with UK address using UK proxy will be useless (and even if you do have all that using proxy is probably against Steam EULA). The only and legal way is an American or British friend who can gift it to you.

Ain't it awesome this $1 = €1. Like a retarded little kid came up with that idea. Or that fat fuck gabe; "MOAR MONAYS FOR HAMBURGRS"
Sorry.
Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

I'm pretty sure VAT is already included in all prices.

Regular prices in IL are rising to 250-300nis for triple AAA titles. Then they wonder why there is so much piracy in Israel.

Nice to see the guy who posted that exchange-rate thread has been banned. Awesome. Guess Valve didn't want him speaking out, eh?
Fuckers.
I'm not paying jack shit to Valve ever again. Period. Bioshock really is dirt cheap, but here's a tiny example on how Europe is being arse-fucked by Gabe "Greedy Fat Bastard" Newell.
Bioshock for £3.49? Not for me it isn't, not in Norway/Europe. Here it's €4.99 (which is £4.79) That's a 37% mark up. Bastards. Oh and Sacred 2 is *still* €44.99 - yet it's only $44.99, which works out at $63.25 for us. Nice little mark up there, Gabe. What's that extra bonus going to? Some more fucking twinkies?
