Is SSL recommended to use when downloading from newsgroups? Want to know if its worth paying extra cost for SSL. Also, I heard it slows down the transfer speed. Let me know what you think..thanks.
It's pointless unless you are superparanoid. And yes, it can slow down the transfer speed due to the encapsulating process and more overhead in the header per packet.
