To the Canadians on here, can we get REAL Absinthe anywhere? Cause I went to the store and I saw something called absinthe and it wasn't real absinthe. Some NA version that doesn't make you hallucinate or anything.
I want the shit that makes you hallucinate.
So, any Canadians know where to get it? Or, can you order/import it from Europe?

4.7% so it's a bit light, and it's also a "brown beer" so it has good flavour and is less carbonated | lol? A bit light, thats pretty much normal beer, at least here. 4.7% is actually the strongest beer you can buy in food stores here in Norway (3.5% in Sweden ) |
5% is considered the norm here. But you can only buy beer/wine from govt run stores in Ontario |
lol dude, as Im sure you know you can get 10% beer. Most of it is nasty (ala Fosters) but on Saturday, my girl and I went to the beer store to grab a few brews to pre-drink before we went out (fuckin 9.95 for a beer....thats almost a sixer) and she bought 2 of these beers for me. Can't recall their names, but they were 10% and tasted good. Like a Wildcat (7%) kinda taste.
She's not here tonite but tomorrow I will as her what she bought if your interested.

I only buy strong beer in Sweden/Denmark. Its really expensive in lqr stores here. But then Carlsberg elephant is the favorite ^^
You can actually get cheap beer here btw, you just got to stay away from import beer like Corona/bud and other popular ones.

You guys get Canadian beer? Like REAL Canadian beer? By real I mean the alcohol percentage and what not? | Well, we can get it but its not common in regular stores. We can get alcohol from all over the world, but don't think there are any mainstream canadian beers, or are there?
Tuborg, Carlsberg, Corona and Heineken are probably the most popular brands here. (except for the Norwegian ones; most food chains got their own cheap beer brand )
Anyway a friend of mine studies in Canada now and loves that the lqr stores in Canada is open 24/7, at least where he is at. In Norway: Monday-Friday food stores stop selling beer at 20:00, saturdays 18:00, Sunday: closed. And the lqr stores stop selling even earlier. Im not a morning person (or rich as hell) so buy all my alcohol (except) beer in Sweden. Im probably in Sweden 20 times a year just to buy cheap stuff ^^

see the part that says "the norm" ie molson, labatt, moosehead, budweiser, lakeport etc. lagers, pilsners and ales.
and yes, I'm quite familiar with 10% Crest, it's what all the homeless Native guys are buying downtown
don't take that as an insult or anything .. definitely some bang for the buck (I think $3.25 for a 500mL can, which is obviously why those homeless dudes are buying that along with Labatt Max Ice 8.3%). But living in an area where the panhandlers are scraping a few bucks together/rounding up empty cans for refund you get an idea of what kind of beer they are buying
But yuck, I'm not a fan of beer that strong. Doesn't taste quite right imo 7% is about the max I think it stops tasting like beer ... like how 20% Sherry doesn't taste like wine anymore (even though it technically is just strong wine). Plus I like to relax with beer and not get too drunk. Doesn't mean I won't do as many shots as I can before going out ... I think I have different drinking habits when I'm out at a bar/club ... seems I have unlimited tolerance and can't go empty handed... gets expensive!

@nouse
Naw man, wasn't that nasty ass puke tasting shit Crest.
It was some beer I had never heard of before. Maybe an import. It was good. Strong, but not nasty. Like....kinda like a Moosehead but stronger taste you know?
Fuck dude, we used to buy crest in highschool cuz its dirt cheap and gets you smashed but I have yet to meet ONE person who hasn't thrown up after drinking it.
Do you drink Wildcat? Been drinking it recently and I like I. Ive always like Wildcat but Ive been drinking it more than once or twice a year you know? Wildcat Strong (red box I believe) is my favourite.
Tho, my fav beers
Moosehead
MGD
Blue
Keith's
Steam Whistler
(in no specific order of course).
Oh and I don't mind a Corona if Im at Wasaga Beach on a hot day. Same goes for Mike's Hard.
My girl got me into drinking again. I only drink on weekends and rarely get drunk. I figured 3 years not touching drugs or booze is fine enough. I can drink when I go out or if the woman wants to spend the nite in with a couple bottles of good wine/champagne. As long as it's not white win....that stuff makes me sick.
But I still won't touch liquor...not because I can't handle it but because the smell of straight liquor makes me wanna puke.
Now a Whiskey Sour or Rum and Coke or a Screw Driver, those I'm down for.
Still, I prefer Bailey's Irish and Coffee over anything. Best mix ever. Hell, pouring a nice tall milk glass of Bailey's Irish Cream and drinking it straight is good too. To me, it tastes like chocolate milk with a little kick to it.
Thats why I have no less than five bottles of Bailey's Irish in the house at all times
Hell, even sometimes I mix it with my chocolate milk or cereal (you should try it with cereal and milk, tastes great...discovered it last week).

After one of his holidays(Spain or Italy, can't remember) friend brought back a couple bottles of Absinthe with really high levels of thujone in it. At the closest weekend three of us were tasting it.
We did it by the book, with special sugar spoon and a burning piece of sugar melting down, right inside the glass. Glasses were about 1/3 for each testing. The smell was very strong, something like a fresh sliced grass, the bitterness - was the most bitter thing I have ever tested.
After two such glasses I lost sensation in my legs, it was like the legs just ceased to exists. I still could move, stretch, twist etc. them, but can't feel them. The fact that I could hurt myself scared me, so I decided - no more Absinthe for me and reached for the bottle of water in plastic bottle. I tried to grab it but ended up squeezing the bottle very hard fountaining the water in the process. Here I realized that I also lost sensation in my hands I was scared shitless. Friends were like WTF LOL and started laughing. A few seconds later one of them suddenly stopped, more like freezed and said that it is wrong, something is crawling in the back of his head, that he can feel it moving from the left ear to the right All three of us went LOL
Two of us still can't clearly remember that happend next. The friend whom remained unaffected told us that we were laughing, joking that we should call the ambulance, arguing whatever it be useless of not, how would they open the door, should we open the door bofore of after calling ambulance and more more crap like that.
Well, we weren't hallucinating but the stuff did mess with two of us
