					| |
					| I was reading up on the HDAdvance hard drive solution and I came upon this at the official site:

  	  | www.hdadvance.com wrote: | | HDAdvance is the latest technology for PS2 to store and load game from HDD. Other than converting original game discs to HDD, HDAdvance also supports converting Backup/Import Game discs to HDD. 2 discs(CD+DVD) are included in the package. The CD version is used for converting CD Backups/Imports while DVD version is used for converting DVD Backups/Imports |

While I'm sure that it's a long shot, do you require a mod chip to use this software? If you do, I think that the site is a little misleading for not mentioning the requirement.

					| you only need a chip or swap magic discs if you are using a pirate version i believe
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

					| should work fine i think.
swapmagic works fine without a modchip, so why should the included disks be any different.
they probably included swapmagic (sounds like it, anyway) to be able to convert backups.

					| You can install games onto the hdd via the PC, thats what I do, installing takes around 5 mins for a bigger dvd game. You dont need a boot thing to boot it, it boots just the same way action replay does

Yes thats one way of doing it.

I take out the hdd from ps2 and connect it as slave on my pc
then i use WinHIIP to install games to the ps2 drive, you do that
in windows when you use WinHIIP.

					| I have a spare IDE connection, got a PCI IDE card. I just stick in and boot win xp. The OS wont detect the HDD but the program WinHIP does. The HD Loader, HD Advance will boot up on a none modded ps2 with no extra things to do if the region is correct.
I have a dms3 chip so I have put a reduced HD loader prog on my memory card and I boot hd loader of my mem card : )

I think HD Advance is just HD loader with a bigger TOC.

I have never tried that way but like Steve-O says you have to install
a ftp on your ps2 drive and then i belive you should use something
like HDL_Dump to connect and transfer files to the ps2, but i'm not
100% sure as i just started to use hdd on my ps2 and the only thing
 i have tried is WinHIIP.

http://www.ps2-scene.org is a great place for info about tools and how
 to use them for ps2.
