Well, I've always had a very strange taste in music. I never stay in one genre for very long.

But I've never liked Classical music before, but I've found that when I'm painting on my Wacom Cintiq, it feels so relaxing and great to listen to classical music, especially piano music. It really helps me in my paintings, no other music has been so great for me while painting.

But the thing is, I know NOTHING about classical music, I've barely heard anything from beethoven even. And the ones I've heard, I don't know the names. I've just had zero interest in it before.

So, I'd like to ask for some recommendations. I specifically like piano tunes... and preferably calm and soothing ones, like the one playing in this video (also, a really great great speedpainting):

I've heard it lots of times before, I know it's one of those uberknown classics, but I have no idea what it's called. What's it called? And name me some more similar ones.

Thanks. Very Happy

Yeah, I know, I'm a noob, but well, I'm not an airhead, I just don't know classical music. heh

You prefer piano sonatas/etudes etc.? If I were you I'd just find some "100 greatest classical hits" and take note of the composers to get to know them, the eras (. The classical world is so vast and varied that it's impossible to throw names at you, like Charpentier, Mendelssohn, Bach etc..

Just get various collections with different styles and start from there.

That song is Für Elise by Beethoven. My favorite is Beethovens Moonlight sonata- 3rd movement. It's really fast. Classical music is really good when you are learning imo, it relaxes you. I also like Claude Debussy - Claire de Lune, great song...

Wow man! I opened the thread with the intention of writing the exact same thing! Chopin's piano stuff is awesome. Smile
