I buy 12+1 month time-cards and they cost me less than £29. £29 a year for full online gaming? Sounds tasty enough for me Smile

Why not? At least this way I don't have to buy EVERY game just for the cd-key for online play. I can download anything on the 360 and play on Live. Sure it's not the same as "free" if I have to pay £29 a year.. but it's better than paying £15 a month on WoW.

I've used 2 free one month trials and that's it. Didn't really play much online ...

Actually I tried L4D online, and I actually enjoy playing more with the bots than the fucking kiddie retards on XBL.

I guess it's only worth paying for if you have friends who also play on live, I have a session on COD4 almost every night with friends. Also regularly play Red Alert 3 and GTA4 TLAD with them and I played through RE5 on co-op.

£30 for 13 months is nothing.

WoW is £10/13€/$15, and how is paying for live better than paying for WoW? When you pay for WoW you get new content developed for the game constantly, when you pay for live you get something that is free on other gaming platforms.

My apologies, it's €15/£10. BUT! Either way; I consider that a massive rip-off IN COMPARISON to XBL. £10 a month, £120 a year, to play ONE game.

£29 a year to play hundreds?

Yeah, that's a toughie honest.

Lol there's no doubt Live + Free games is 100x better than outdated, WoW that looks like an anime cartoon. I guess it's ok for some people, I'm just not one of them.

It's tough to beat free games online for a single payment of $50 a year, much less if you're smart and shop on ebay.

It's tough to beat free games online for no payments at all. Playing online should be free and the extras can still cost money for all I care but just playing should be free.

I'd rather XBL *was* free, but I'm not likely to cry myself to sleep over the fact that it isn't. I just shrug, pay my money on eBay, and forget about it for another 13months. I reckon the pros outweigh the cons.

When I first got the 360 I played it for a month and then it sat on the shelf for well over a year.
One day I decided to try out live properly... and I found the 360 was suddenly a lot more usable and appealing. Since then I became a regular subcriber and buying quite a lot of DLC content regularly up to the point my 360 was banned last year. Since that date the 360 just sits there in the corner of the room again unused and the ps3 gets all the luv.

Not planning to pick up another 360 anytime soon, although I don't totally dismiss the idea, but would probably try to get an import USA one next time. At least MS are not discriminate with their ban-hammer. They actually lose money in some cases when they ban peeps.

I pay for the full 13 months. Got it for about 28 quid at the time.

Hardly use it but its there when I need it and its not earth shatteringly expensive.
I spend more on coffee every week than on live therefore I'm a believer in free coffee before free xbl

Bloody hell, lol! Same here mate!

I swear, my girl is constantly remarking about how much coffee I drink. If I were to tally up the costs, I reckon I'd be about the same as you - no joke; I spend more on coffee per month than I do on a YEAR of XBL ... and coffee doesn't allow me the pleasure of laughing at American n00b kids after putting bullets in them and listening to their rages, either ^_^

I drink it pretty much all day. We've got some fancy coffee machine at work, direct bean to cup jobby.

I always buy a coffee on the way to work (as its an hour away) so that £2.20 per day for 5 days a week.

3 weeks coffee therefore equals 12 months xbl.

I wish people would stop moaning about the price of it (not in this thread, just in general)

I know I'm going to catch shit for this .. but ... coffee is much harder to make than tea. tea is just bag in water. coffee made at home (single cup even more so) is mostly mediocre.

You think all tea comes in teabags?
