A Half Life 2 mod featured on the front page of Steam today. I decided to try it out and ended up losing several hours to it. Found it very fun, if somewhat buggy and laggy (but hey, it's a mod). Pretty much, every map is a battle in between 2 big capital ships. The players star off by entering fighters and knocking out the enemy team's escorts. Space combat is reminiscent of Freelancer, except it's first person instead of 3rd person. You then land your fighter on their ship and close quarters combat ensues while you knock out the Ships systems one by one from the inside. Every system you knock out makes it easier for your capship to KO their capship in the big battle going on on the 'outside'.
I stopped playing a while back. They messed up the game by allowing the whole thing to be pretty much played in space, rather than with a combination of both.
Whoever won the attacking race would just get clogged down in the FPS stage, while a couple of defenders would sit outside shooting down the nukes and attacking the cap ship with bombers. It was retarded that there was an entire phase that really had no advantage given to the team who won it.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
