Syco, be careful, such anticipation is only bound to lead to disappointment.

grab the demo, they morph a few levels together like they did with the first one to throw the best of the experience at you. IF you have surround headphones this game surpasses dead space's sound. Had shivers going down my spine.
Anywho, back to bitching, I can only play a demo so god damn much before I need the fucking thing. COME ON FEB!!!

Oh no man. Have you seen the trailers and hands-on previews/movies of E:TW? It won't disappoint.
This is one game you (not you but anyone) should buy. The replay value is 10/10. Cox knows what I mean.

I loved FEAR 1, and I hope FEAR 2 will be as good as the demo.

Only thing I like about Fear 1 was the AI and how they respond. Like they take cover, try and flank and team up on you etc

Yeah, A.I. was a bit better than other shooters, but this obsession with little girls laughing that some have (and for some reason think is scary) never really got to me. Everyone says 'zomg FEAR is so scary', fuck no. The only game that even remotely can be described as scary for PC is AvP. But that could also be because I was a lot younger when I played that.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Same here. Didn't find it scary. I did jump a few times when you round a corner and you see that girl all translucent walking around the next corner or through a door.
But it wasn't scary which was a disappointment.
U know what series freaks me out? Silent Hill. I have SH5 sitting on my desktop but Im playing another game. Think I will play that one next.
I hope Resident Evil 5 comes out for PC. And if not for PC, then PS3 or hell, I'll even buy it for the 360. Cuz if i recall correctly, RE4 only came out for Wii and I would never buy a Wii. Its crapola.
RE2 freaked me out, fav survival horror game of all time.

Wow, guess we have totally opposite taste and experiences. I've never found any of the RE-games the least bit scary or oppressive, they've just been boring survival games with crappy camera angles (well, except for RE4 which sucked donkey ass on PC). I think I enjoyed Silent Hill 2 or 3, but that's it.

Well, I was young when I played RE2.
And Silent Hill...I dunno, the first 1 (only one I played) freaked me out. The whole atmosphere and what not and the music. Not the characters and or monsters.
Music and atmosphere is what does it.
Tho I haven't played a game that freaked me out in like 10 years.
Im hoping SH5 will freak me out a bit ya know? Some good ol fashion creepy music and what not.
I like RE tho. Good zombie shooters. They aren't masterpieces but they are fun...for me atleast.

Syco, have you played Dead Space? Because I'm not easily scared at all (usually bored actually ), but that had a few "wow wtf" moments.

yeah, on my second round through it (wanted to play through it with that badass level 6 suit lol). It has some...not scary, but moments that make you jump. I like games like that
Actually, after I watch Stargate SG1 (starts in 5 mins) Im gunna play some SR2 (wanna beat it) and then play some Dead Space

Silent Hill, now that's quality gaming. But it's not scary, it's more ominous and eerie. Awesome atmosphere.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

ya I'd have to take breaks every now and then. Wearing headphones while playing that game really stresses you lol.

Thank GOD! I thought I was the only one that got really creeped out by Dead Space. I'm constantly reading lately about how people thought it was boring and completely unscary -- yet the game creeped me out a LOT!
Spoiler: |
especially the audio log from the guy who hacked himself to death rather than being caught and converted by those creatures. That creeped the SHIT out of me. Had to take a break and grab some coffee >_>

Dead Space wasn't that scary, and I got 5.1 sound. Creepy at times tho..
Im always very careful in such games and waiting for the worst.
The videogame that scared me the most was actually condemned 1 when that fucker came/dropped out of the locker! That was really scary. Also one time in fear one where wherever her name is was on the top of the ladder. After that I was always waiting for something similar, but that never happened. So its the atmosphere that scare you the most, no doubt.

Dead Space, like Silent Hill, was more creepy than scary. It was a mind-game ... whereas games like Fatal Frame are just flat-out terrifying.
