Or whoever they are, their IP, 67.228.171.34, has been IMAPing my GMail... WTF?

Anyway I could do something about them? Changes password and secret question, but still, I wonder how they got the details in the first place.

Accessing my mail account through the IMAP protocol.

Wikipedia wrote:
The Internet Message Access Protocol or IMAP is one of the two most prevalent Internet standard protocols for e-mail retrieval, the other being POP3. Virtually all modern e-mail clients and servers support both protocols as a means of transferring e-mail messages from a server, such as those used by Gmail, to a client, such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Microsoft Outlook. Once configured, the client's use of such protocols remains transparent to the user.

So they are spying on you and illegally accessing your email account? Dude, contact google for sure. It must be illegal to do what they are doing.

Its like going into someone's mailbox (like a house mailbox), opening their mail and reading it.
Illegal.

They're not spying and it's not illegal. You have to sign up for such a service and in doing so give them permission of some sort.

It's not illegal, I indeed signed up for it. I just didn't know what it was exactly. I have disabled IMAP for now, so no problems now. I went to the site of the company, but I can only find signup, no opt out option... The fuckers! Laughing

Yeah, well it's actually only good if you have small massages and a very fast connection. Otherwise you get Outlook stuck for 5 minutes while it downloads these 20MB messages I clicked on by mistake. Smile
