Ok, so i had a molar pulled early last yeah, healed great, no dry socket, even had it packed with wierd herb's a week later, i today noticed that i have some sort of white bone slightly sticking out of the gum tissue on the outter side, to the touch it's quite painful, but can't feel it at all otherwise, could it be after this long, a bit of tooth has finally worked it's way up and coming out, or could it be an even bigger issue?

Any help is great.

Wisdom tooth ... Smile

I get 2 right at the back they are flush with the gum, never come fully out thank god or try to as i still got teeth above part of them.. sides of the gums can get sore though as they try to cut through,., nothing to worry about unless they start really fucking you off then you will have to have those out as well lol..

Wisdom tooth at back of jaw trying to fight for space lol Razz

Wisdom teeth are the third molar teeth found in the upper and lower jaws. In some cases, there is sufficient room for these to come through the gum (erupt) normally. In many people however, there is insufficient room for this and they can be trapped behind the second molar teeth (impacted). When the wisdom teeth come through part way (partially erupted) and gets stuck, they can cause recurring infections and severe pain. In these cases, removal of the wisdom teeth can be performed either under a local or general anesthetic. The choice of one depends on the severity of the impaction, number of teeth involved and the patients preference.

Other reasons to have wisdom teeth remove include damage to the tooth in front of the wisdom tooth from pressure and/or food packing, crowding of the front teeth as the wisdom teeth try to erupt and cystic changes associated with the skin around the wisdom teeth. All these conditions can be detected on an xray which is ordered by your dentist

Wisdom teeth that grows against their neighboring molars can cause major cavities due to physical damage of the other tooth. Happened to me. Wisdom teeth are basically leftovers from evolution. As our jaw changed shape, the wisdom teeth should have disappeared but we're apparently not there yet.

If you only had 1 wisdom tooth pulled, it's probably the other one dude. Still, doesn't hurt to go get a check up just too be safe and to put your mind at ease.

I have only 3 wisdom teeth Very Happy Two up, which are growing nicely, and one down that could be a problem, but it's not showing so far. My dentist told me that when eventually it'll go out that I should remove it, so my gums don't flare or so. And he also said that I'm the first person he saw with 3 wisdom teeth Very Happy

Tooth i had gotten pulled last year wasn't a Wisdom bro, was just a regular molar, second from back, this thing just has a small white bone-type feel, sticking out toward's the my cheeck, think i'll get an appointment to find out if it is a Wisdom, if it is, and it grow's properly, would be great, as it would just flat out replace the tooth that was pulled. full mouth again...

oh. yeah, prolly a wisdom tooth. But if it's stickin out towards your cheek, doesn't sound like it's coming in right and I don't know if they can fix it.

Still, what your planning on doing is the best way to go. Just go see the dentist.
Whenever I have some kinda ailment I go to the appropriate doctor just to be safe.

Thank god I don't live in the US and have to pay to see the doc lol

Dentist no, but dental surgeon in a hospital yes. Also, health care is in the realm of provinces not the federal government.

ofc for many by the time they have a problem severe enough that it requires treatment in a hospital means that most of their teeth are already falling out...

Most people rely on insurance provided through an employer so really it's not that different from US healthcare.

I need to have two wisdom teeth out. In the UK, my original dentist appointment was free - but the antibiotics for an infection were not (but they were subsidised).

I have then been to the hospital a few times, and they will soon saw off part of my jaw in order to remove the two pesky teeth.

UK medical = good.

yeah, UK's pretty good.
Its apparently normal to pull 2 wisdom teeth in the same sitting (top and bottom) as they carry on growing and need the other to grind them down.

I had one out about 3 years ago due to a kick boxing injury. It took them an hour to get it out and ran out of time to remove the opposite one. Should really go back I guess.
