but sofar most of my ex computers were done for and that's why i upgraded (except for the last one) . something broke or it overheated and cpu with motherboard fried , or like i forgot to properly check if i mounted the cooler over the cpu right and it fell on the videocard and it shortcircuited the motherboard , cpu overheating it fried aswell and i threw the fucker away , hdd had tons of bad sectors and i gave it away for free , i only sold the RAM .
i've had this computer since late 2003 , it works just fine , i only bought stuff that i really needid , better PSU , another HDD (and i'm still using ATA) .
but like i said , it works very nicely , no major malfunction and i only use it on weekends and when i'm on vacation cause i'm not home during that time .
but i don't see the point in wasting more than 1000 euros on a computer i DO NOT REALLY NEED .
Like five yrs ago I sold old comp (like pentium 333 MHz or so), for like 70€. And it wasn't worth even 50€ I know it's wrong to take advantage of people who doesn't know anything of comps, but it's their own fault. You know internet is here for quite a while...

thats true you know. newton didnt discover gravity. the apple told him about it, and then he killed it. the core was never found.
I'm so lazy and I think it's such a fucking bother to sell things over the net. And I would never sell computer parts to friends/relatives, because I know for sure, if any of it broke afterward, regardless of it being their faults or not, I'd still get blamed/have to take it back.
No way.

I keep stuff for spare parts for about a year then just throw it away. Also I give away stuff at "ohhh-what-a-shiny-little-thingy" moments
well, the best thing you can do, is just build a new box with crappy hardware and give it to your mom
i keep all my old hardware and use the spare parts to help friends and once in a while i use some spare parts, build a crappy box and give it away.
Selling it is pointless... I bought a 200GB IDE drive for 200 euro 4-5 years ago, wtf can you do with that? Sell it? woohoo a cool 10euro or so...
I made a box yesterday, 300GB IDE drives, pentium 4, 16x DVD, 30X CD burner, 512 mb ram, 10mbit Network card. Yeah it sux. Installed win xp on it and office and sold it to a friend for 100 euro. He is a pc noob and needed a pc to work on for school work. I got rid of my hardware that was piling up here and he is happy with the box. For him it is perfect, he has windows/office, can watch youtube and make his school work.
