lesson to be learned: pay the correct amount of income tax. You return should be zero and you should owe nothing if you have paid taxes correctly (in 90% of the cases anyways).

income tax return = you paid too much tax during the year = you gave the govt an interest free loan.

edit: apparently they have managed to resolve the current problem...

OR "Lessoned Learnt"

LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. Thats the whole reason the US's economy is in the shape it is. People making 40K a year have 500K houses......

Even tho Canada is also having hard times, thats why were alot better off than a) the US and b) most of the world.
No bank will allow someone to buy a half a million dollar house when they only make 40K (or any amount that can't cover it) a year.
I read (or saw) that the US is thinking of adopting the Canadian way of regulating banks. US Economists are urging the Gov to do it.

But the minute you say "Government Oversight" or "Regulation" your called a "Socialist".
Idiot.

Sweden is a Socialist country and look at how well they are doing....

Americans (not all) and they're hang up on this word "Socialist".

Im moving to Europe. I cant stand how our country is run. I have determined our government is so corrupt, CEO's get huge bonuses for doing nothing, it is ridiculous. I welcome any change besides the garbage one we have now. I will be paying from my tax dollars to bail out these morons who bough huge homes.

Im a proud renter and dont have to deal with the housing market. Banks are at fault for lending money to poor people, people are at fault to agreeing, government is at fault for doing absolutely nothing and in fact encouraging everyone to buy a home regardless of income. Its sick here.

eventually things will get better, not like they used to do...cant make any rush decisions right now..you never know what might happen in near future..there is downside to everything

The California budget fiasco was a true disgrace. Tens of thousands of people getting income cuts and losing their jobs because Democrats and Republicans weren't satisfied with this year's Gerrymandering.

Libertarian voter here <3 I don't care about their positions, I just don't think they could possibly do a worse job than the current idiots.

go to ER with a cold, wait for hours
go to ER with basically any condition that should be treated by a family doc, wait for hours
go to ER with AMI, get seen right away Wink

I live right in the city ... I had to wait a couple of months for my original consultation with a new family doc, but after that I get seen within 1-2 weeks (most of the time it's me that is asking for a later appointment). Also I have a family doc on call 24 hours a day (whoever is on call in my family doc's clinic) so no need to go to ER for simple shit.

People don't realize ER is for people with actual emergencies that can't wait. So I'd say if anything the healthcare system can be inconvenient at times, but doesn't need to be if you actually make an effort.

lol naw man, you can go to the doctor anytime you want. Just have to make an appointment and there are tons of walk in clinics.

But if say you need to see a specialist, then yeah, you may have to wait 2 weeks or so.

But just to see a doctor, if you dont have a family doctor, you go to a walk in clinic.

And its free

Only thing you pay for is medication. And you can buy insurance plans that, essentially, you pay like say 4 bucks for your meds.

Sweden is a great country. Wouldn't mind visiting and if I liked what I saw, I might move there. Me and Angela have been talking about moving outta Canada once this Global Economic bullshit is fixed and things are back or better to the way they were.

Even tho, basing the next comment on what I see on US media, Americans aren't to fond of Swede's because (and I'm about to use the new WORST WORD in the US vocabulary), they are....if your ready...Socialists! Shocked Rolling Eyes
