Won't ever buy a CRT as the technique is very old but It's very interesting news. The brightness and contrast on CRT's still suck hard. And I find this very stupid as both those companies work very hard with LCD displays. Soon we will see the 8, 5 and even 3ms TFT screen which will make CRT a forgotten past as prices are dropping rapidly for TFT screens.

True, but LCD's still have the problem of interpolation. My rig can't play all games at 1280x1024 and all lower resolutions as the "physical" one look awful on a LCD. So i would still go for a CRT for gaming.

The interpolation is a bitch but that's just how it is and will be as long the screen uses some kind of pixels, same with mobile phones and pocket pc's. What I normally do when a game runs slow is either buy new hardware or lower the graphics settings instead of resolution.

BTW, have you seen the brightness and the color saturation with OLED screens? Thats totally awesome.

OLED is the shit, but I just found this extremely interesting. Ive never been a fan of LCD, so this might be the perfect alternative.
