So i'm buying a new gfx card but i'm not sure for which brand should i go for

I'm between sapphire and powercolor.

I heard powercolor is way better and also it OC very well while sapphire doesnt and is also clocked a bit lower.

Also does anyone know a good deal for these cards (Europe)

Thanks!!!

There is no difference between different vendors graphics cards. They only offer different warranties/packaging/accessories and maybe a more efficient heatsink. Google who offers the longest warranty and buy it or go for whatever is cheapest.

Occasionally a company (Gigabyte) will make a non reference board and charge a premium for it though.

PowerColor 4870 1GB PCS+ is nice. Comes overclocked (800/925) with their own cooler. Never had a problem with it, and runs 830/1000 24/7. The only thing I've done is mod the BIOS with RBEdit to slightly change the behavior of the fan.

+1

i have the same card & its great the custom cooler works much better than the HIS style cooler which is fitted on most cards.

mine is identical to the "toxic" but with sliver heatpipes instead of gold ones,i think toxic are the factory overclocked cards.

idle temps 38c fan @ 60%
full load temps mid 60's fan @ 100%
gpu OC @ 780
vram stock clock 900

Want to go for the powercolor too but i heard some nightmares that the 1gb version cant run at 825mhz and you have to update the bios and lowerclock it.

Too bad the OEM/vendor heatsink assembly's is the only ones that cool the voltage regulaters properly. Otherwise all the aftermarket heatsinks as of right now are useless.
