So I bought a 2GB stick today and it doesn't seem to be getting along with my existing 2GB (2X1GB) for some reason. I inserted all three sticks, booted up Vista 64bit without any problems but my sound was fucked up. I tried playing Gothic 3 but the monitor switched to power saving mode and I had to reboot manually. Display started glitching too, flickering and white lines everywhere. But the weirdest part is that the new RAM works fine with any one 1GB stick but not both. They're all DDR2 800MHZ but the new one's a different brand, is that causing this? Or is it something else?

Always buy and use same release/spec ram modules together.... you can buy even from the same spec few mnths later and find they changed something slightly like voltage or whatever..

Buy a set that is designed to run together, running 3 sticks is not that great either for alot of boards..

If there was a compatibility issue, shouldn't I have problems using the new 2GB stick with one old 1GB stick as well? Guess I'll exchange it for the same brand and see if it works.
