So I had a Roccat Kone until yesterday, when suddenly the mousewheel stopped working, probably a design flaw.
I called the support line and they would have nothing to do with it, claiming that for that to happen I would've had to take it apart myself.
I've got far better things to do than taking a mouse apart.
Anyway, if they don't want to fulfill my warranty, then I'll take my business elsewhere.

So the question is, can you recommend me a new mouse for games and work?
currently I switch around between dual 24" screens and one 30" so it needs to have high dpi and poll rate as well.

Anybody got any experiences with the Razer Mamba or Microsoft Sidewinder X8?
I've already had a copperhead, it was alright until the buttons couldn't click anymore Razz
Currently I'm on my old Logitech G9, but it's seen better days.

I was going to recommend the G9, but seeing as you already know it's good and looking for better, I'd recommend waiting for the G9x, which is supposed to have 5000dpi update. Smile

The logitech MX series is really comfortable, but probably too heavy compared to the G9 for gaming and they got a week or so wear-in period. Pretty awesome mice though. If you use Excel or Photoshop with a mouse all day, I'd whole heartedly suggest the MX's.

The MX series also has a very low DPI, which is problematic with games and high resolutions. Otherwise I'd be all over the MX Revolution.

i still have my trusty old G5 and i wouldn't trade it for anything else - comfortable like the old MX series, but still enough dpi (2000) for dual 24". imo, the perfect mouse for gaming as well as the whole adobe CS Smile

Crap!...that means that the day of my Roccat are numbered then...
I can't believe the crappy service they gave you.

Have not tried it, but read good things about the mouse from SteelSeries (Danish company)

Yeah I only heard good stuff about Roccat, but apparently their nordic support department isn't as customer service minded as their German counterpart.

wow, that's pretty spot on customer service. Logitech and Razer FTW. Logitech just replaced my moms mouse with no recipt or anything, got it like 2 years ago.

Razer replaced my old diamondback twice no questions asked.

So...roccat and it's 2394702 dollar mouse can't even stand behind their products? Says a lot about the company

That mouseweel thing is a known problem and you shouldn`t have a problem with warranty.

Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0

It's a legendary mouse with a standard design which is cheap and imo the best available atm, all of these roccat kone, copperhead omg 2 billion dpi extra smooth crap isnt worth it. i play css at a high level and the standard stuff > the high tech crap.

The logitechs are also quite good, i had one before and it never broke Razz the intellimouse is really good for work as well and normal browsing, i'd recommend getting a steelseries qck mousepad with it as well, costs about 10 dollars or so.
