|
 |
Well, I've been unemployed now since October 2008, i got laid off due to the economy i got told.
Anyway, since then i have sent of at least 11 application forms to firms as well as phoning up and signing on at agency's to try and get work.
I haven't heard a thing back, litrally, no reply to say i have been unsuccessful or nothing.
It's so annoying as i want and need to work but just am not having no replys, even for general crappy jobs.
I seriously hope this changes soon, it is so diss-heatning and bad at times.
I just want a fucking job ffs.
Anyone else having these wank problems of late?

think about what you can do and build from that, maybe freelance or start a little business, some internet marketing, you just have to think outside the box and go outside your comfort zone. and if all else fails, there are always shitty little jobs like data entry on freelancing sites. awful pay, but better than nothing.

you shouldnt be sitting waiting for replies to come to you...
you should be actively pursuing those replies...
apply for 15 jobs a day online... its as easy as clicking one button most of the time...

I'm unskilled in most fields though.
Most jobs i have done has involved cleaning company's/removal firms or general labouring or general jobs.
From my experience in these jobs, there is not alot of them about.
Although, i will defiantly start sending off more forms from tomorrow if the application is what i am used to.
Otherwise, the way things are there is hardly no point in going for a job which i realistically have no chance in getting is there?

screw that way of thinking. if you're sending out heaps of applications anyway, a few more won't hurt. and who knows, something good may come from it.
and seriously, start networking. about 80% of any work i ever did i got through friends or word of mouth.

15% unemployment where I'm at... despite that I'm holding down 2 jobs + advert biz + full time uni. Companies like college students; we'll give our heart and souls for $18/hour. There's always something. Try harder.

The recession has nothing to do with the problem. The business owners panicking over the recession is the problem. They panic, flog off there staff and then wonder why why go under.

If i could get a bank loan of say 1500, it would help me loads.
Since i sold my motorbike 4 months ago due to ther engine fucking up i have no transport.
Problem being, i know the banks won't give me a fucking loan so i am fucked for the time being.
And i agree, there is no way a lot of jobs floating about as there used to be these days.
Labour and "other" things which i won't say paid rest to that!!!

Well i have never worked somewhere when i was what they were looking for. Maybe you have some skills they can use.
I applied once @ BASF Crop Science to do an internship when i was still studying. I just sent them my cv and i got a reply they had no spot for me.
2 months later they phoned me that they had a project that i could work on. It is a biotech/plant breeding company and i studied biotech engineering. But so are other people. But they saw my cv and saw i had some useful computer skills, i could script, use databases, use matlab, R, design html etc.
The biological team was struggling to make a reporting system and the it department had no clue wtf they had to make, the database is huge and wtf does a biologist need? So i worked there for 5 weeks to design the reporting system. Between the 2 worlds... The system was done in 2 weeks, and i made it indepedently, getting input now and then from both teams. I was able to tell the biologists what was possible to do and i could explain/ask specific it questions to the it department.
Now the biologist just had to go a website, click what they wanted, hit the button and go to the printer. Not that hard, but they had useful data rolling out of the printer. The it department had no clue if a biologist needed a DNA sequence, a gene name, a plasmid key etc because they dont know what it is.
Just to tell you, just send your cv everywhere, even if they have no open positions. You never know, they might phone you for a short term project. Ask you for a shit job 1 day in the weekend that pays a lot. Everybody has a skill that is unique.
I will never forget what my high school teacher told me "your worst skill will decide if you get the job. Just make your worst skill as good and as unique as possible". And he is right, you graduate as a chemist, but so are 1 million other people. But when you can make websites or program or organise events or motivate people or know 9 languages, you will be hired even if there is no position open, because they can hire you instead of hiring 3 1/3 people and your return will be very very very high because it takes you little time to do what takes ages for other people with no clue and you become, yes, rather useful and unreplaceable.
So just take a shot and give them ALL your skills, not what you think they need, because you never know.

there's no coke or meth here. or pretty much anything else, besides dope, which, yeah, has crap returns. you need to either move a shit-ton a month or be a jerk and fuck people over, to be able to live just from this.
it's ok for making an extra buck, though
