|
 |
well, im broke these days
i have a 6600k (oc)with a 1060 6gb from 3 years ago and it runs fine most of the stuff, the thing is i have 144hz 1080p monitor and i do enjoy the high framerate .
so i was thinking with the 1080s coming down with price of getting a used one a 6700k and oc it .
i think that would keep me in the spend not too much zone and have 100ish fps on new titles .
new epic games like outer worls seem to max out the gpu .
what would you do in my case . 350ish euro budget for gpu . i dont plan on going up in resolution for another generation or two.
thanks everyone

I would certainly stick with 6600k. It's a great cpu and You will not notice a difference.
1060 can be changed to whatever Your budget allows max

Your CPU is fine, just need a new GPU, but ask yourself, do you really want to put in a GPU that's been used for 4 years, and on top of that, will have no warranty? See if you can grab something during black friday on amazon.it or something.

just turn down some settings like shadows n stuff , visual difference between very high and high u cant even see when stuff is moving
1060 is still a beast and 3 years in gpu world is one generation difference nowadays in this pricefixing slow ass scamtechnoworld... , come back in another three for a bargain
and the other guy is right, second hand u will run the risk of being without money and no warranty if the card dies, thats just not worth it

Hmm, I have no issues with The Outer Worlds with my 1060 6GB. While I'm overclocking the GPU to 2126MHz and RAM to 9360MHz I've got a non-K 6-core i4 8400 that maxes out at 3.9GHz all-core, 4GHz 2-core and 4.1GHz 1-core. Granted, I run 1080p 60fps (with Fast vsync from Geforce control panel). Textures on very high, the rest on high, FOV @ 85.

Just a heads up and another thank you to all of you .
i managed to sell my 1060 pretty good and scored a 2070 super for 450 eur .
so overall investment was about 330 eur .

I just compared both processors. It is clear that replacing the 6600k with the 6700k will not give a significant increase in performance. To make the difference in games, I recommend using a new video card.
