I am referring to "The World News" section, thread "Russia mobilizing against Ukraine".

Everyone can call out or fact check what he thinks is fake. Other than that, as long as the discussion remains somewhat civilized and people don't intentionally provoke or spam obvious bullshit everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Besides, the World News section is only open to members anyway. Its not like we have a huge impact on anything.

First step is to aknowledge that you are being manipulated. Then you start to sort shit out and always check your sources, their intentions, affiliations etc. it should be standard for everyone navigating the internet nowadays, but I guess most kids and boomers don't learn that and suddenly realise the world is not as easy as they thought.

I myself just avoid reddit and social media (not actively avoid, just have no desire to engage in them or have a use for them) and the result is the shoveling to clear away the bullshit, on any given topic, is way less time consuming.
Only time I end up on reddit is when I search google for something related to games/coding/tabletop. if a news search gives me a reddit post, I skip over it and look for sources themselves it probably came from to start with anyway.
For social media, I dont do or have: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc. I have a facebook but visit it less often than I visit my dogs vet..and its usually only to reply the obligatory "thanks" on my birthday or wedding anniversary.
edit: wait I do have a twitter. I forgot. I use it join in the PC parts give aways that say "like on twitter for an entry". Sure, I will and my 0 people that follow me, and that I follow will see it
