The topic title is the name of the game, mind you.

You dive off a skyscraper, relying on quick reflexes to negotiate the intricate tangle of girders that make up the City. You perform aerial stunts at terminal velocity before parachuting into the arms of your cheering fans. Your mother would be proud.
only watched the gameplay vid... the concept sounded great, but the gameplay looked meh.. but yeah it could be an interesting concept for a bigger budget production some day, especially if they incorporate mirrors edge type gameplay (grabbing to swing out of the way of obstacles n shit...) yeah i loved mirrors edge, so sue me a vertical version of that could be awesome, especially if its fast and open!
I've always wanted to go B.A.S.E. jumping. Anyone have experience doing it for real?
Many years ago before college I was working as a security guard in a multi-use office tower. I wasn't on the night shift, but apparently a guy hid in the stairwell and then cut the lock to the roof and jumped around 11 pm. It was a 46 story building. He got hit with a draft and slammed into the 24th and 10th story windows breaking them. The guy on the 24th couldn't open his office in the morning, they had to take off the door.
After that the guy slammed into the retail roof on the 5th floor smashing a few panes out of the glass ceiling. When he didn't land his girlfriend called an ambulance. The ambulance showed up, surprised the security guards by telling them there was a guy on the roof, and they found him in pretty bad shape. He was in the hospital for a long time.
He tried to sue the management company and claim the roof was "inviting". They found the cut lock a couple days later, his lawsuit didn't go anywhere.
Cool story though. Doubt I'd actually have the balls to jump off a building on purpose! Still, it's on my list of things to do before I die. Probably be the last thing too...
A man is in hospital recovering from non-life threatening injuries, the day after he leapt off the roof of a 40-storey downtown Calgary building.
Police say a 41-year-old man wearing a parachute jumped from the roof of the TD Canada Trust building shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday night.
Partway through his descent, at the building's 24th floor to be precise, he smashed into a window.
"He was then out of control coming down to the ground and landed on the atrium on the fifth floor smashing out the window on the fifth floor," police Sgt. Mike Lomore told CTV's Calgary affiliate, CFCN News.
"All the glass on the 24th floor came down and broke a lot of windows in the atrium as well."
The man's girlfriend, who was waiting on the ground to assist in a planned getaway, instead called emergency services.
A helicopter was called in to first locate and then rescue the man from the top of a pedestrian walkway.
One paramedic told CFCN that the man was alert when they arrived.
"He was conscious, he was talking and he was obviously in a lot of pain," the paramedic said. "One of the things he did relay to the paramedics was there was obviously a miscalculation."
He was taken to Foothill Hospital for treatment of pelvic and back injuries.
Investigators believe the man was trying to BASE jump from the building when he was pushed back towards it by a wind current.
An acronym for buildings, antennae, spans and earth, BASE jumping is a so-called extreme sport that has seen people leap from some of the world's tallest landmarks.
There was no word how the man managed to gain access to the roof of the Calgary tower.
Charges are pending.
There is the news report for those who want to read it, says basically what I said. The worst part was Friday morning was April 1st. So I didn't believe my supervisor when I came to work and he told me.
I had to spend all day turfing reporters out of the building. The management company didn't want anyone shooting video of the area.
