BUT NOT THE KIND YOU'RE THINKING MODS. teehee.

Anywho - My girlfriend is moving out to go back to school for the summer about an hour away - not insanely far, but far enough that on the 4 days a week (10 hour shifts) I work, I won't be able to go see her. That being said, I'll have like 6-8 hours a day for those 4 days that I'll have little to nothing to do (most of my friends are staying about 2 hours away from here for the summer, so Sad, lonely Phluxed for the summer). I need something distracting and time consuming. The games I've spent the most time playing ever are

1) Everquest
2) Asheron's Call
3) World of Warcraft
4) Diablo 2 (Online)
5) Warcraft3/DoTA Online.

As you can see, I am pretty much an online only gamer in terms of replayability - I LOOOVE games that I can sink a loooong time into and compete against other players. At work, I play a MUD to kill time when its slow. I love character progression.

Global Agenda Alpha servers have been down for 3 weeks for massive updating, about 5gb they send us every few days without even being able to play. It's pretty exciting waiting to see, but I need something to play.

Someone, for the love of god, turn Phluxed around, give me something to play, and be part of a community. Is Nforce grouped together anyware?

Games I'm looking forward to:
Diablo 3
The Old Republic
DC Universe Online
Starcraft 2
League of Legends
Global Agenda

Any games anyone can suggest pour moi? I'm le dying.

edit!!

I forgot to list games I've played already

Hawx
Fear 2
HL2
CS:S
COD4
NHL09
COD5
Nearly every big MMORPG.
TF2
Civ4
All the Sims games

Didn't know you were an EQ player Phlux - just moved up a few notches in my book Very Happy

Unfortunately, all the modern day MMO's cater to fast leveling, little to no down-time, and just generally have a mass-market casual appeal to them. You won't find anything like EQ or AC again so you can stop looking on that front.

I'm not really sure what to recommend man as the latest games have been disappintment after disappointment - especially online wise.

Edit - The closest thing you can get to EQ hardcore wise is Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. A disaster at release, I played it maybe a year or so ago, and they fixed a lot of stuff. That said, I don't know if they have since dumbed it down or not.

Complete Heal rotation 4tw.

I watched my best friend IRL at his house fight in the best of the best semis against furor for warriors. I watched legacy of steel raid and my friends brother was in the original FOH.. I played EQ like it was a religion when I was a kid.

It's funny you suggest Vanguard - I actually played the Alpha with Brad (I'm sure you know who Brad is if you played EQ). I still have the Alpha 1 client on my old PC, and it's ALSO funny you suggest Vanguard because I was already in the process of downloading the 14 day free trial to give it a whirl. I've heard it's become impecable after its re-release.

Guild Wars was something I played ages ago, but no longer have an interest but I appreciate the suggestion. Keep em coming.

As for the MUD - check out aardwolf. Easily the best mud going right now.

Yea I played EQ from May of 99' up until Planes of Power.
The first two years of it were epic. The Kunark expansion was the highpoint and it went downhill after that. I enjoyed the old-world stuff the most - Blackburrow, South Karana Treant camps, Guk, West Commons Tollbooth Guards and Druids, soloing Plane of Fear - the good ole days Very Happy

Let me know how Vanguard is - I left off with a 40 odd something necro on there, just finished getting my black wolf mount (man that quest was a fuckin' oldschool grind at its finest). I might get back into it myself assuming they haven't pussied it up for the World of Warcraft kiddies by now.

I don't see any reason to believe that. GW is only 4 years old. EverQuest was nearly 6, before it got it's sequel.

Hey, only reason I'm replaying Guild Wars is so I can ready myself for GW2. I'm expecting it.

So far Vanguard is a lot of fun. I've only levelled to 10 thus far on a few characters, trying to gauge what I feel like playing. It's likely I'll play a healer, but the Ranger is pretty fun, as well as the Sorcerer. Bard too - ugh, too much to decide on.

Anywho, the 14 day free trial is available and its likely I'll keep on it for a bit.

Just cause they're keeping details in the dark, doesn't mean it's cancelled. Besides, with how successfull the first GW was, I doubt they would cancel it.

Spykez, my issue with demigod is I come from a very serious DoTA background. Demigod COULD be a great game, except they need to add in about 50 more heroes for variety. I played it for a few days pretty religiously and just found it repetitive, same heroes, same shit all the time.

Expect League of Legends to be a much better DoTA followup.

How is Vanguard's PvP? Is there something else besides just fighting with other people? Conquering towns for example.

Vanguard is pve orientated for the most part yes... its pvp is pretty terrible.. I noticed you did not say you tried warhammer online, its starting to get alot better now my SH is just so much fun.

Also if you have not played wow in a while its got to a real laid back nice time waster now, when I cant be dealing with warhammer i switch to wow and level something up using zygor guide for simplicity.. must say it looks rather fine really for the shadow options and other effects it has..

Failing that get into some arma online..

I was all about the WAR - I have a 40/50 RP still, the game just is very meh for me now.

WoW is a no go. I will not play that game ever again - I just don't have the willpower to resist it once I start playing.

I've thought about playing ARMA for sure, as well as going back to L4D or CS:S..

Its true - I watch the cinematic for Diablo 3 basically once a week... I actually don't think there is a better ENTERTAINMENT company. I can't even imagine what a Blizzard Film will be like... which is coming btw.

As for the L4D, definitely will be playing it once the SDK comes out - that should be a lot of fun.

I think the MMORPGs I'm waiting for the most are as follows:

1) SW:TOR
2) Global Agenda (though, I'm in Alpha already)
3) Mortal Online

Well if the GA servers are down for 3 weeks for massive updating, the beta is probably right around the corner. They said it was gonna be soon, and this just reinforces that. I'm praying like hell to get in. I just got level 85 in Everquest and am gonna be looking for a new timesink soon. Present day EQ isn't the same as it was back in 99 / kunark / velious days, but it's still a damn sight more fun than any other mmorpg I've ever played.

E3 is a month away I think.

They said alpha servers will come up just before for some final testing before the show - they have intentions to win some awards and want the game to look amazing (it does btw).

Then afterwards, I can see them starting invites to closed beta.
