i loved TA, although core contingency did add a few things that made late game kinda.. well lets just say that unless you were fast in killing eachother, it was possible to create impenetrable defenses... aka: line of doom (on one side its still a bot, on the other side its a wreck. no real transition between the two stages)
Supcom is sweat as well. The new zoom really changed the way you can look at the game The only negative thing to say about the two games are their generic approach to sides.
Basically, the units might look differently, have different names, but they are still mostly the same. One side has an arty mech, the other has too.. one side has a bomber, the other has too.. they are even more or less equal in firepower.
L3 stuff differentiate the races to an extent, but they are far from the totally unique experience you get from say playing terrans or zerg or protoss in starcraft. I say starcraft, because most of the naysayers use that as an analogy for supcom or TA.
So what they would need to do is give those races some uniqueness. Have them go completely different ways.
Apart from that, i do believe that supcom is a great MP RTS. Singleplayer blows, but it was never really made for singleplayer gaming.

I enjoyed SC1 but loved SC Forged Alliance. I though SCFA was what SC1 should have been when it was released.

SC was great, although it sucked that the units were so much alike.

SC showed me how hundreds of units fought, not to say thousands including all the turrets barriers i had placed for defense, the micromanagement has been one of the best ive seen in a game so far, anyway, it was a fight against time. The time u had to take advantage to make silos for defense and for attack. This game soundtrack was amazing.

Yeah, as already stated the lack of personality meant that the game failed to draw me in. I much prefer Empire: Total War or Company of Heroes for example.
I'm still willing to give the sequel a chance though, because the original had a fantastic sense of scale.

I love Supreme Commander, but I don't much care for Company of Heroes.. it's a matter of taste and personal preference, some like to get down with the tactical part and others is of a more strategical mindset.
How the units look doesn't matter that much to me as long as they realistically depict what they're supposed to, given the context they're supposed to be in.

I do love strategic level games, Empire: Total War and Sins of a Solar Empire are two of my favourite recent PC games. But I prefer strategy games with a more sedate pace, where you feel like you're building an empire rather then a transitory 'base'.

Did everyone miss the hilarious joke on the cover? Starcraft 2 will save PC gaming... Some people should get their head out of their ass... What a bunch of turds...

It's front cover hyperbole, no need to start that debate all over again.

Trailer is out
http://www.gametrailers.com/game/supreme-commander-2/11365
it's coming out for the 360 as well,
the first one for the 360 was one of the worst ports ever made.
hope the 360 version will not Dumb down the PC one.

damn.. no gameplay.
I hate prerendered trailers without any gameplay. they're useless, tell you nothing about the game. They should just spend their time on the game instead of some videos that everyone will skip when the game ships anyway.

There goes the strategic part of the gameplay...I hope they keep the scale of the first one. It's not SC without the sense of controlling a massive army on masive maps.

I doubt they will kill that part of the game, its what made it stand out from most other rts.
Btw, screeny looks sweet.

E3 Developer Demo:
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-supreme-commander/51076
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-supreme-commander/51074
Is it just me or it just got smaller. When one of the devs said they learned a lot from making Demigod I didn't think they would just copy/paste it and add robots instead of creature.
I also taught that an experimental unit is expensive to produce and has more of a testing purpose instead of main combat role. Hly shit now they are mass producing them.... we have the little experimentals, the medium ones and the "large" ones (I personally taught the Cybransorus or wtf is it's name was a laughable atempt compared to the old monkeylord for example).
I hope they receive a lot of feedback from the playtesters since they said this is an early alpha and they put the sense of scale back in. Continuous battles on indestructible suspended platforms becomes boring after a while.

Looks like a console peace of shit, tiny and limited, maybe that port of SC changed their mindset.

You see one map in a pre-alpha demonstration and think you know everything about the game?
no comment.

Yes, I am commenting what I see. What I can't see I clearly cannot comment.
What I see here is a piece of donkey shit, and it's a small piece at that.

New screens, also has a short video of the game.
(Haven't seen it but it's very small at only 9MB and might just be a quick teaser or pre-renderer cutscene.)
