fucking awesome. Granted im going ou and getting that 40 genesis game pack for 360 but it's still fucking awesome. Too bad Nintendo holds the rights to the best fucking game titles ever.

Nice, but yeah man .. screw the individual shit, get the "Ultimate Genesis/Megadrive Collection" - I did and I'm having a BLAST! 40 excellent games, including the immortal Phantasy Star series and all the Sonics, except CD.

It's sad what sonic has turned into, my GF's kid got shadow today for PS2 and I never played it or seen it in action before and as soon as I saw this "sonic like dude" shove a magazine into a sub-machine gun I about shit myself. Since when the fuck does sonic games have such crap in it? what happened to ducking and spinning into shit, that not enough now days that he needs a fucking MP5 or whatever the fuck it was. |

Yep, in this day of eye candy and younger ages people don't realise there are some amazingly playable games on the older systems. Sure they don't look like todays stuff but in those days when you programmed you made sure it was damn playable because you didn't have the good old processor and graphic abilities.
I was a Nintendo man myself, the MD music was too screechy for me at times but they did some cracking games, everyone thought Contra was going to be poo on the MD because ofthe lack of mode 7 but it was a cracking game.
And Gunstar heroes was superb...

the only thing is you can get them all in a Name pack for PC thats all Genesis and x32 games in a 3gig pack with emu

Agreed absolutely. I'm always going back to the old 8 and 16bit classics - because they're classics for a reason. Sprite-based graphics, chip-tunes, incredibly fun gameplay. Sure there were loads of utterly trashy titles too, but I reckon the ratio of "bad to good" was far better in those days than these.

Same! I've always been a Nintendo boy (the SNES SPC audio chip was, and still is, extremely impressive) and, like you, I couldn't stand the scratchy - low quality - audio on the Megadrive ... but it sure as hell didn't stop me from enjoying countless classics (some of my fondest gaming memories come from titles like Outrun 2019 and Warsong Langrisser)
As far as the topic itself goes; I love that MS are releasing these old classics on XBLA. It's just a shame that most people will see them as "old and ugly" - discounting the legendary gameplay hidden beneath the surface of "ewww sprites!" 
I still recommend getting the retail "Ultimate Collection" though as you get all these (along with box-art, game history, trailers and interviews)

I got mine from Game for £20 - and it was the best £20 I spent on my 360. Buying those games individually on XBLA would cost treble that, and then some.
