Look for some high-scoring games on a review site.

The Witcher! It's the best RPG of the last few years imo.

While thats not a bad idea I put more faith in the judgement of the people on this board then on any review site.
sabin1981:
Not sure what you did, but them be some nice recomendations. I guess I prefer either sandbox RPG's or RPGs with clear divide between playtroughs with different classes. With the second I mean I like not having to meet the excat same NPCs and do the excat same quests when playing the game. And prefrebly it should be hardcoded so I dont fall into the temptation of doing every quest in the game with the first toon i make.
Surray:
I really did like Nwn2 but whe n I had it it was so buggy I went and swapped it in for some new headphones. I might give the last remnant a try. Are we talking full FF clone here ?
DarkPassenger:
The witcher was good teh first time around, BUt then again first time around is all you really need. I loved teh adult feel, but it was to constricted to do in the long run.
I know Im grasping at straws here. Just very famished for a good rpg theese days.
I suffer from an acute case of dyslexia called lazyness

STALKER, not pure RPG but, to me, is more like an RPG should be than e.g Witcher or Mass Effect.
Gothic2 with addon is superb if you can stand the graphics. Gothic3 is quite ok now when it's patched but no where near as good as Gothic 1-2 unfortunately.
FO3 shouldn't be missed either.

+1, had great fun with Two Worlds, in many ways better than Oblivion, very underrated.

And a lot worse in many other ways, but still decent overall. Just remember to patch it, the release version had some awful issues.

Fallout 3 with Broken Steel, it really revitalises the game. The level 30 cap is far more appropriate.

Cheers

Broken Steel you say. Revitalises the game you say.
Might just have to grab it then.

..... S.S.S is the person you quoted about Bloodlines.
..... "eleventh time" signifies how many times I've installed, and completed, Bloodlines.

I am most definitely with AM on this. Either FO3 is "your" game, or it isn't, but either way; constantly whining about it doesn't accomplish anything. The game has been out long enough that people already know all about it.
Personally; I love it! Love the exploration, love hunting out unique weapons, love the combat (FO3 Combat Upgrade removes VATS and bases the game solely on FPS-skill, which changes the game in radical ways) and I love the story -- not to mention the vast mod content.

Doesn't that make half the perks and skills useless though? Or do the weapon skills affect accuracy outside of VATS?

Nah, old "accuracy" perks/skills now translate into damage or "accuracy at range" -- rather than a calculated "chance" of hitting, as was the old system. Here's some info, if you like;

I've been using this mod since the start and it changes the game completely - in a good way too. I hated the trying to use both FPS *and* stat-based combat, it just felt wrong to me. Using this was a god-send!
