I have been playing around with it. I have noticed something tho.

This could be just me and my photos . Whenever I look at photo's, I notice that usually the men are ok in terms of red eye and the same goes for baby pictures. The women seem to get the redeye more. I have looked a bunch of photos (like 20) and that is my conclusion. Is this just random?

What causes the red eye?

the flash gets reflected by the blood vessels behind the retina, hence the color.

there isn't a difference between males and females, but when somebody isn't staring directly at the camera/flash and angled away from the cam/flash axis, the effect is reduced - maybe that's the case with your photos.

Excellent answer, Thanks. I didn't take any of those said photos. They are mostly my friends which is why I am going to touch them up a bit

I don't know if I have that on my camera. Mine is new so I am still playing with it.

Maybe men don't look into the camera directly then... more often? Where as women tend to look right into it?

haha, i see AM's efforts of inspiring people to get in touch with their "intellectual side" actually had some effect. would be great to see you coming out with some theory involving red-eye and sex. the only downside would be that if you'd brag about it here, you'd make your real persona public
