A friend of mine is having problems lately when burning 360 games. Since he installed Win7, every games he burn are crap like skips and then cant be read. He is using the same batch of Verbs he was before switching OS. All games he made right before the switching works perfectly.

He's using IMGburn 2.4.2.0 and Win7 Ultimate build 7100.

Is this a common problem with Win7? Does he need to install/uninstall something to make it work?

Here's what my friend wants to know base on the problem mention above:

I have recently found that the discs play fine on my brothers BENQ drive that I flashed for him. I used the same Flash to update my 1st release Samsung MS25. The drive is making loud grinding noises and does not play some new disks.

I want to replace this drive and was wondering it I can replace it with a newer drive (BEDQ or a Toshiba sd-s802a).
I know it will have to be flashed again, but was curious if there were serials attached to the system. Any help is appriciated!

Just bringing this topic back. I had 2 identical coasters yesterday. I took some steps to fix it. First I went back to Imgburn 2.4.4. I don't remember whether I burned any 360 games with 2.5.0. I also cleaned my system from Securom using the Securom Remover. (I recently installed Mass Effect and activated it over the net.) The third burn came out fine. Running W7 x64 RTM.

So you might want to follow up those leads...

Ok and now just to add my own two pence to this thread; I was on Win7-x64 b7100 for months, and before that it was b7000. I've burned about 35 360 games this year alone. All worked, no coasters. Oh and this was on IMGBurn 2.4 as well, not the latest one.

OS and IMGburn version definitely wasn't the cause of bad burns.

@Kommando

Yes! You can, though this was a while ago now so you've probably already done it, replace your MS25 (which is actually now an MS28, since you've flashed it) with a BenQ VAD or any other 360 drive. It basically entails you "spoofing" your existing serial code from your DVD onto the new one. That will, as far as the 360 is concerned, make the new drive appear to be the exact same one as before - but you'll have the added performance/longevity/quietness of the newer drive Smile
