I'm looking for good German bands and musicians in any genre.

I like Rammstein, Falco and Bushido, that's pretty much the ones I know, suggestions will be appreciated! Smile

PS: when I say good German music, what I really want to is artists who sing in German which pretty much excluded all English speaking German artists Smile

So, I could probably stone you to death with good german music and therefore I will Very Happy
Question is if you understand the lyrics because with some bands that's rather important.
Sorry for the list being a little bit long but well, here you go:

And I'll put them in groups so it's a little easier Very Happy

First off

1)Punk:

Terrorgruppe:

Wizo:

Die Ärzte:

(and two solo project from two guys from Die Ärzte):

Bela B (might not sound very punkish but he makes sort of punk-rock music):

Farin Urlaub (same deal, might not sound very punkish, awesome none the less):

Ton, Steine, Scherben:

Die Toten Hosen:

Planlos:

The Wohlstandskinder (although it's categorized as ska-punk, whatever):

4 Promille:

Slime:

Since I can't put them in one or the other I'll make them something of a transfer band:

Such A Surge (they were kind of a hip hop - punk - hardrock crossover band):

So onto:

2)Hip-Hop

Azad:

Blumentopf:

Casino 94:

Deichkind (their beats got weirder by the year):

Deine Lieblingsrapper:

Absolute Beginner:

Die Fantastischen Vier (the fist one is pretty old but still awesome):

Dynamite Deluxe:

Samy Deluxe:

ASD:

(yeah, all three project have something in common and that's the guy called Samy Deluxe Very Happy)

Ferris MC:

Fettes Brot (again, first two are pretty old):

(just ignore the video and everything that comes after 5:20, it's the only one that had the song in good quality)

Freundeskreis:

(this one features a whole lot of other guys and, sorry for that, pretty much most of the song is english)

Kool Savas:

Torch (german old skool hip hop, pretty deep lyrics):

Advanced Chemistry (the old group Torch was a member of, that particular song is about racism):

Too Strong:

Benjie:
(well, just funny not very good though Very Happy)

Well, now it gets a bit harder because for me it's pretty hard to distinguish between rock, alt-rock, and alot of other stuff ^^

3)"Rock"

Revolverheld:

Daniel Wirtz:

Juli:

(I just noticed that tehre aren't too many in that category, might be because most of 'em tend to sing in englisch Wink

Now onto something harder but again same problem most of them tend to sing in english:

4)Hardcore and assorted:

Cho-Jin (oh god, they were awesome...):

Graceless Days (not to much too listen too but anyway):
http://www.myspace.com/gracelessdays

and again a "transfer" band from Hardcore, an assortment of metal and medieval folk:

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter:

5)Medieval Rock (not exactly my cup of tea but whatever):

In Extremo:

Subway To Sally (their singer is a real asshole met him a couple of times):
(again, don't mind the video)

Schandmaul:

Tanzwut (kinda medieval folk rock meets electronic kinda cool, at times):

Now, the rest is gonna be an assortment of singer-songwriter-pop-softrock stuff (most of them not even closely enjoyable if you don't understand what they're singing, so if your german ain't that good, might wanna skip this part):

Silbermond:

Rio Reiser:

Westernhagen:

Joint Venture:

Stoppok:
(there's an acoustic version of this that sounds much more awesome)

That's kinda all I could think of.
But last but not least something you didn't ask for Wink
German bands singing english because they're too good to be left out:

Beatsteaks:

Caliban:

Black Friday '29:

Neaera:
(The first guitar riff is just plain and simple one of the "catchiest" I have ever heard)

Bettie Ford:
(quality sucks but they are really good)
