Though development is not yet complete on FINAL FANTASY XIII, Square Enix announces FINAL FANTASY XIV, saying the 14th game in the RPG series is an MMORPG for PC and PlayStation 3 planned for release next year.
The FINAL FANTASY XIV Website is online, offering a teaser trailer for the game, and preliminary word is: "LOS ANGELES (June 2, 2009) – Square Enix Co., Ltd. (Square Enix), announced that FINAL FANTASY XIV, an all new massively-multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG), is planned for simultaneous global release with language support in Japanese, English, French and German. Adventure begins anew in the vast realm of Eorzea!"

booo hiss this is almost as bad as hearing the next elder scrolls will be mmorpg.
th single player series should be krpt a seperate game.

probably be another hardcore grind with little to do with the actual series like the other ff mmo.
expect a hardcore grind , no solo content , lvl limit quests every 10 levels lol.

FFXI was worthless piece of shit designed for greedy freaks hoping to sell game stuff for real money on eBay. Game was insane hard, unfriendly and populated with tons of trolls. With dying you lost experience and even levels. Monsters chased you along entire map with lightning speed regardless of their size. Playing solo was impossible, parties sucked big time with stupid grinding.
FFXII was bad as well. Poor story, bland characters and crazy bounties including Yiazmat with 50 million HP. It is time for people to realize that the days of FFVII and FFX are long gone. FFXIII will be garbage as well as another online trash FFXIV. And on top of that FFXIII will be PS3 exclusive which means you have to waste additional $400 to play it. FFXIV is at least available for PC.

I don't ever remember the difficulty being a turn-off for me, it was actually rewarding when you got somewhere in the game; as opposed to the majority of MMO's these days that are designed to spoon-feed the brainless. The killer for me was spending more of my time trying to find/put together a competent group, than actually making any sort of progress.
I still consider it one of the better (read: least shit) MMO's out there, but only if you jump into it 5+ friends!
