UDPATED - THERE IS NO KNOWN PATCH FOR WAVE4 AT THE MOMENT!!!!!! ALTHOUGH THERE AREN'T ANY GOOD WAVE4 GAMES YET EITHER

If you're reading this, you're either inquisitive, or you've been sent here before you are not 1337 enough to hang with the others.
Thats right, you've got an old Xbox 360 Firmware? Oh knows! Wave3 games are out.
All new xbox 360 games, past MAY 2009, are WAVE3. IF you don't know how to, or don't want to flash your old ass Xbox 360 Fireware, read on...
The process of patching a WAVE3 game back down to something that will play on your box (WAVE2) is so bloody easy. Firstly though, make sure you have all the latest dashboard updates from:

You can install from a USB stick!
There are loads of tools out there, and no doubt much better ways of doing this (see posts below), however, here is a simple guide:
Things to download:
1) ppf-o-matic3.exe
2) v14-15.ppf
3) the iso in question
You can get 1) and 2) from the below link (if this is illegal, please shout and i'll remove):

Now, once you've downloaded and extracted your game, you will have a .ISO and a .DVD file.
Run ppf-o-matic3.exe, and choose the .ISO as the "ISO File" and the .PPF as the "Patch".
Click the Apply button.
Burn the .dvd / .iso as normal - keep it at a low speed and you'll be fine - enjoy!
IF YOU GET DASHBOARD OR UPDATE ERRORS WHEN PLAYING YOUR GAMES, DOWNLOAD THE NEWEST 360 UPDATES FROM MICROSOFT AND INSTALL VIA USB STICK - SEE:

So I've been downgrading wave 3 games for a while now and no problems. (I Had a friend flash my drive ages ago and lost touch with him, no biggie my consoles banned anyway)
Unfortunately when you flash games to play in 1.4 in messes with the update and won't install updates off the disc (Thus rendering prototype unplayable)
Any other way to get this update? Way to rip it off the disc, or grab it from somewhere?
Any help is appreciated mate.

You can download all system updates from microsoft... and then install via a USB stick. Google "xbox 360 update"

i am not a newbie, but i cannot be arsed to spend the time doing it... and why would I both if i can spend 20 seconds applying a patch instead!

Really I did like mine + 5 of my friends xbox in about 1hour. That is with opening and flashing the xbox.
I did another xbox few days ago and it costed me about 5mins from start to finish.
I rather do that one time than keep patching those games. |

Get this and understand it, no matter what you do, once you have modded your 360, you run the risk of being banned!

DUH I know that..my point is, someone just told me how he flashed his xbox today, burned tekken 6 and immediately got banned..I am not sure if he verified the game through abgx, but I thought that was kind of odd..so he thought either the burn caused it to happen or the firmware itself, that is why I was asking

The whole thing is confusing. Everyone says different things. Makes me really paranoid. I've already checked my XBOX three times today to make sure I was not banned and I just have a silver account, I dont even play games online, etc. It just goes online to update some patch or whatever you call it. Everyone is saying different things, from people who are saying that their hard drives are banned from having the forza 3 disk 2 on their hard drive to people saying they got banned after flashing. Since I have not been banned til now, am I safe or do I have to continue to worry

Yeah, your right..whatever happens happens. Im not going to make a big fuss about this. If it get banned so be it. I have had my XBOX flashed for the past 6 months, people get banned, but I Haven't so I must be doing something right. If I obsess over it I won't be able to enjoy it so what would be the point of that. Even if I get banned, as long as I can still play burnt games that I download then I really dont care

I am going to wait to update til abgx comes out with their software update, but any idea when abgx usually updates their software..I would think it would have been done by now since 1.61 has already been released

Hi,
if I want to play this game
Call.Of.Duty.Modern.Warfare.2.Xbox360.RF.WAVE3-Strikeforce
with my Xbox disconnected from the internet, will it get me banned? Is there any way for MS to tell if I have been playing patched Wave3 games, i.e. will it store some kind of info on my console and send that to MS? I've never played on LIVE so far and my Xbox is generally offline all the time.
My idea is to play the single player campain of MW2 first, and go multiplayer with a Wave4 ISO when I have my Xbox properly modded to IX1.61. I'd just like to not get my ass banned and warranty void, because I played the Wave 3 version early offline.
