While it wasn't exactly a super secret, EA has yet to officially announce that DICE is working on the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. Apart from the upcoming Bad Company 2, most new titles the Swedish studio has been working on were console iterations, but at a recent conference EA's COO John Pleasants confirmed that DICE is working on Battlefield 3, saying that he "was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product." Don't get your hopes up just yet, the game isn't due for quite a while.

I think if bf3 will be a console port ,dice will see more angry fans then valve with the l4d title.

That would be an extremely retarded and poor business decision. The Battlefield franchise was developed for PC and the majority of the fanbase come from that platform. To make it a console exclusive or a portwould be a slap in the face. I don't give a fuck if they want to make console versions , just don't give PCers a shitty port.
And piracy ain't an excuse as you need a legit key to play online anyway.

What we want is a brand new Battlefield game built specifically for PC. What we might get is either a console port or some shady weird pay to play crap. I can't even remember what was the last big FPS game developed mainly for PC without strings attached.

1943 wil be a watered down, oversimplified remake of the original. 3 classes, 24 player multiplayer, 1 game mode (conquest), regenerating health...that hardly qualifies as "more features". More like "less".
