What is more interesting is the option even to "set up internet tethering" is no longer available from settings > general. WTF is with this buggy FW...!!!

Ive got my hands on a custom firmware but im a bit nervous about using it. I have 8 gig iphone on 02 contract. If it goes wrong is it fixable?

as far as i know iphone isn't fuckable with these things. you can always revert to factory settings if anything

For .ipa & itunes, there isn't the mobileInstallation file anymore, just add http://cydia.hackulo.us in cydia sources, and install appSync, then you can sync your .ipa with itunes.

with 3.0 my wifi is gaying out and my 3g is dead 
gonna go back to 2.2.1 when i get home from work
it's soo gay i can't use shazam at bars now yesterday was a total fail
actaully it worked yesterday, today at the office wifi isnt doing anything and my bossprefs are shut
2.2.1 here i come unless 3.0 is out for a month and all the proper apz are out then i'll get it back
right now it's just a dissapointment on my end

ya fawk!!!
i spent like 3 hours yesterday trying to correctly DFU this shit
and restore it. had to do it like 4 times 
then went drinking w/o any games or music
imagine how awesome it is when a girl talks to you sees your iphone and there are no games or music (well you're boring)
glad that didn't happen tho i went drinking with two girlfriends of mine and they palyed with the iphone 2 days before i updated to 3.0  so is all good

The thing I never understood about jailbreaking and downloading apps (you know, that you didn't pay for...) is that you can't update them.
I don't know if that is still the case, but back when you used to have to replace some file via ssh, you couldn't update the apps.
Is it possible now to update apps you downloaded (aka. not paid for)?
