oh tilted mill the group behind that abortion that is Simcity Societies..
This appears to be download only so there is unlikely to be a release of it.
Frankly I wouldn't trust tilted mill as far as I could throw them.

I bought the game, and it's quite the fun timewaster for its price. They seem dedicated to updating the game as well, so hopefully there'll be some cool additions once they get the technical kinks out.
Just don't get it for a deep gaming experience, it's a very simple game in how it's designed. But yeah, I thought it was worth the price. It's a game I can see myself returning to every now and then, whenever I feel like a shorter and lighter game experience.

it's a steam game so don't attend for a full working release then. it work only online after unlocked and updated with the client running

why aren't steam games ripped/cracked anyway? digital distribution is the future, especially for smaller games - so the rls groups should finally get on with the times.

small or big games steam games need a connection to work for full. i know that digital downloads are on the way now and dev use then this system to limit piracy. anyway don't exist rips for steam games. "rips" are just a heap of extracted files

there's plenty of steam rips, they just rip the .gcf and .ncf, but you need a cracked steam client to use them. i've been looking everywhere for this game but I can't find it. i'm almost tempted to buy it. almost.
and they aren't really rips in the old definition, like what myth used to do. they still have all the music/movies and whatever.

well that's kinda what i'm getting at. where's the difference between mounting an iso and loading up a steam file in a cracked steam client?

the difference is that mounting a iso u install a game and for steam games u have to download them first from Valve's servers and then u can play. don't exist an installation for steam games

biznaz123 wrote: | bushwacka wrote: | i was referring to biznaz123's post about the steam files. and concerning the steam rips - you don't even have to install them, just extract and play. the scene shouldn't be so conservative about such things. game is game, iso or not, as long as it's complete and playable
btw, are there any working cracked steam clients out now? pacsteam was great, but it's dead afaik. |
none that let you do what the first cracked steam client did. pacsteam works and there are a bunch of emu/cracked clients but none of them let you mooch games. you have to go find the gcf's, manually load, and then find cracked servers to play online, or just by yourself. |
You make things sound bad. I'll rephrase what you said :
You can get all the gcfs for the games and use a cracked client or a launcher or an emulator.
Specific games and all mods can be downloaded through cracked steam, too !
AND you can play single-player and multiplayer on cracked servers, or host a server yourself ... lan or online.
Better, huh ?

that's cool and all but you used to be able to get free games from steam. at this point it's more like a pirated game organizer... but we're out in the weeds here. hinterland still has no rls :/

the problem is that this "steam emulators" need uninterrupteds updates to work cause Valve go to update dayly their platform. pacsteam is outdated and like others are craps and don't emulate nothing. steam have dynamics .dll that are modified everytime an update is out and is not that hard emulate a steam's download

gfx are crap, but imho it wouldn't change a thing if they were crysis level. has no campaign, only scenarios. the gameplay is a mish mash of diablo and caesar, which just doesn't work for me. but it's a taste thing, so try it out yourself - it's just ~190mb anyway

Check the hinterland forums - lots of people are having problems with the game crashing. Crashes when starting the game, and random crashes during the game. I get crashes with it on one of my systems.
My gf loves the game, but it's very primitive and has a casual feel. It's a light version of Depths of Peril.
