From official forums:

"What graphics engine are you using for developing the game?
Gepard - the graphics engine of SWINE - is being updated, partially rewritten, and, most importantly, extended with the most advanced technology."

So i guess not Very Happy

Sweetness... I am glad Stormregion is still making games. SWINE was a great comical take on WW2 RTS games, the graphics engine and physics engine that it used is still pretty damn good today (from late 2001). This game should be great.

I saw an ingame movie of this game and I must say even if its not my favorite genre its a hell of a game. Its taking strategic war games to another level concerning realism and gameplay wise.

Despite of that it has also neat gfx's, I definetly think this game is worth grabbin.

Just played the demo.
Gameplay and graphics wise, the game is great. I love the hordes of strategic options (unit stance, air strikes, artillery strikes, ammo count, etc. etc.) I really think this game is gonna be a hit.

However, the one area where this game is lacking a bit, is the ingame cutscene vocals.
The Polish sound like germans, and the germans sound like drunk Texans.
However, the intro vocal with the diary summary was done well, so not sure how the final audio will be.

With 3 campgains, I'm sure this one could keep me busy for a while.

I have a question though, for those of you that have followed the game more closely than I:
Does your army carry over from mission to mission? Or do you start with a fresh base set of units each mission? Do Buy Points carry over? Or are they reset each mission?

Hi there!

Is there any difference to "Afrika Korps vs Desert Rats" except the better graphics?

I've read some previews and reviews and it seems to be the same game with different graphic engine. Nothing I would like to pay 45€ for even if it got good reviews.

And yes, you can carry your army from mission to mission - like in "AK vs DR"! Wink

well there are lots of games like this.. search for my topic recently on WW2 RTS games..

Basically i would say the top 3 3D ones in order would be

- Soldiers Heroes Of ww2
- This
- Desert Rats vs Afrika Korps

They r all great games.. but imho Soldiers is head above the rest (Way better AI.. better graphics..... better physics.... better small details..... etc Razz

But hey its individual choice.. just try them all before ya judge them Very Happy

Yes, you're right. But "DS vs AK" and Panzers have so many similarities that I really wonder if it's the same game. Even the campaigns - each game has one important charakter per campaign. I wouldn't have been surprised me if they even had the same names. Wink

The only difference seems to be that one game has only two campaigns, the other three ...

I think I'll skip Panzers and wait for Soldiers or Wartime Command. Perhaps one of those isn't as good protected as Panzers so we can get it for free. Smile

This game is much better than all the other recent WW2 RTS games. The german magazine PC Games gave Codename Panzers 93%! They basically said it's the new king of the RTS genre. I really hope it will be cracked.
