Yeah had a few problems with last few burns of this verb spindle and was going to maybe try a cheaper brand as dont mind a few beer mats.

Looking to buy a large spindle size too as always run out quickly.

Any ideas guys?

Never had a bad burn with verb either manufactured in Singapore or India. But I had my burner start making weird noises and computer freeze when my friend asked to burn game to a cheapest 2.4x media Laughing

I use whatever they have in my local computer shop. Only ever had a few coasters but i think that was my burner rather than the disks.

I get the 8x Verbs ~ 70AUD for 20 shipped. Really not the best price, but I don't mind it for the piece of mind. Can I get them cheaper from somewhere?

It doesnt really matter what discs you use as long as you got a good burner, my internal dvd burner and blueray player (combi) burns like shit no matter what discs i use, sometimes it works with better discs like verbatim but mij Pioneer 111D burner burns every disc perfect even arita's works like a charm.

Yeah knew that but you guys read this section more, so sneaked it in.

Found these(im in Australia), look cheap as hell@

Will give them a try.

My burner is a Pioneer DVR-109, maybe its gone wonkey as a few bad burns in a row, IMGBURN is just reaching a certain % then the computer becomes almost non-responsive (can move mouse but cant do any other tasks and needs reset to restart. same in safe-mode so not driver related).

I've tried Memorex, Aritas, Riteks, Aones, TDKs, Sony, Titantiums.. none of which had given me good burns (bar the Aones but even then they were 50 50 as to whether they worked or not..) Only ones which give me 99% success so far have been the verbs...

That sounds decent. My Samsung 203B is the best burner I've ever had & I started off with a 2x CD-R drive which cost me ~1400AUD back in the day; so I've had a few. I just need to know if the discs have the inkjet printable cover that goes right to the hole.

Somebody posted a nice tutorial somewhere in this forum where it shows you how to calibrate the dvd pot so your laser will read all discs including crap quality ones. I use Memorex discs in my drive and they read perfectly

For just pure quality, I think Verbatim and Sony are pretty solid
